MasterChef Telugu season 1 is set to conclude on Saturday (November 27). Notably, host Anasuya Bharadwaj, who has replaced Tamannaah Bhatia
as a host, will be missing from the season finale.
If insider reports are to be believed, Anasuya has quit the show much ahead of the finale shoot due to payment issues. However, an official confirmation on this is awaited at the moment. Anasuya stepped into the shoes of Tamannaah Bhatia as a host after the latter also quit the show on similar grounds.

Tamannaah has even initiated a legal action against producer Innovative Film Academy (IFA) for the recovery of her 'payment dues'. The producers have also issued an official statement blaming the actress for a Rs. 5 crore loss due to her 'unavailability'. They added that she demanded an advance amount for season 2 in order to shoot for the finale episodes. Tamannaah's legal team in their recent official statement, expressed their shock over the production house's response. The actress' team stated that IFA has 'concocted false stories to defame Tamannaah' and has no option left but to take a legal action to recover her dues.

Meanwhile, the latest teaser of the show has the judges unveiling the chef coat and shield for the five finalists. Abdul, Kamal, Tejaswi, Anupama and Anusha have finally made it into the much anticipated finale.

MasterChef Telugu was launched on August 27 and airs on every Friday and Saturday. The show is judged by Sanjay Thumma, Chalapathi Rao, and Mahesh Padala.

Host Tamannaah Bhatia calls a dish 'the best on the show so far'; Chef Sanjay Thumma not impressed: Team Blue including Anupama, Nazeem and Anusha led by Kamal prepared 'Plum Yum' impressed host Tamannaah and judges Chalapathi Rao and Mahesh Padala. However, Sanjay Thumma was not impressed with the recipe. He remarked Team Blue's planning as the 'worst'. The 12 home cooks were divided into three teams - Red, Green and Blue. The three captains Saurab, Kamal and Sarath chose their teammates in a round-robin method. The three teams got secluded based on the category of ingredients and they were instructed to prepare a dish with their ingredients within 60 minutes. It was a Team Relay challenge where each teammate got to cook for 15 minutes each. The next team mate took over cooking after their respective time limit. The judges along with Tamannaah gave the other teams a thumbs down for their recipes. Host Tamannaah thought Team Green's plating was messy. Mahesh said that the dish was not up to MasterChef's standards. Towards the end of the episode, Team Blue was declared the winner and they were promoted to the balcony.
Anasuya Bharadwaj to replace Tamannaah Bhatia as host: Anasuya has already shot for a few episodes at the exclusive set in Innovative Film City, Bengaluru. Though the reason behind Tamannaah's replacement is unclear, sources suggest that she is unavailable for further shoot as the scheduled episodes couldn't be shot within the allocated call sheet.

The channel airing the show unveiled a teaser in which Sirish walks into the MasterChef kitchen in style. Interestingly, host Tamannaah Bhatia and Sirish engage in a fun dosa contest. While Sirish drops more oil in his dosa adding that he loves eating dosa but not making, Tamannaah can seen saying, "chaloo chaloo doshaa.." as she prepares one.
42-year-old Madhavi gets evicted from the show, The 42-year-old homecook from Hyderabad failed in back to back challenges in the recent episode. She slipped into the danger zone along with Manoj and Saurabh after failing in the first taste test. In the final eviction survival challenge, Madhavi had to prepare a dish with the ingredient she guessed wrong in the taste test - cucumber. She prepared a dessert with cucumber but couldn't succeed in impressing the judges. While Manoj and Saurabh also received critical comments from the three judges, Madhavi was soon declared to be eliminated from the show. "I was determined to walk out with a smile but I got emotional today. I'm glad to be a part of the show. I will miss Chef Chalapathi's smile," stated Madhavi. She also assured to continue cooking with time management and other s****s acquired on the show in application. Both Manoj and Saurabh were safe. Manoj promised not to repeat the mistake has committed in the task. For the unversed, the recent episode had Team Red led by Nazeem was selected for balcony while Team Blue headed by Manoj had to face the taste test. Four contestants - Kamal, Madhavi, Anusha and Nazeemunnisa - qualified for the balcony in the round. The contestants had to pick three ingredients from the cart. Maneesha Evicted: MasterChef witnessed the eviction of Maneesha, the 24-year-old safety officer from Visakhapatnam. Her passion for cooking has prompted her to take part in the show which saw the second round of eviction. Maneesha was one of the four contestants to face the special test by Chalapathi Rao, one of the three judges of the show. They had to make his signature dish, Jugalbandi. All the four contestants had to wear the black apron as they failed in the mise en place test and they had to pass Chalapathi Rao's special test in order to secure a place in the balcony. While Manoj, Madhavi, and Tejaswi made the cut, a few ingredients in the plating were missing in Maneesha's replica. Evicted contestant Maneesha bid farewell to the show with a promise to continue pursuing her passion.

Innovative Film Academy (IFA), the producers of the reality TV show Master Chef have hit back at former host Tamannaah Bhatia for her legal notice alleging them of payment dues.
IFA blamed the actress for the 'delay' in completion of the season further alleging her of causing a subsequent loss of Rs. 5 crore owing to her 'other commitments'.
In the statement, the makers stated a commitment of completing the project in 18 shooting days and a remuneration of Rs. 2 crore for actress Tamannaah Bhatia for the same. They added that a payment of Rs 1.56 crore was done to the actress for the 16 shooting days that she has appeared for. The production house also alleged that Tamannaah is demanding an advance payment for the second season in order to complete shooting for the finale.

Her lawyer's statement reads, "Due to the non-payment of dues on MasterChef Telugu and unprofessional conduct by the production house Innovative Film Academy, Tamannaah Bhatia is being forced to take legal action. Despite the continuous non-payment and unprofessional approach, she cancelled other commitments and was determined to complete the entire project. However, since the production house has overnight stopped communication with her, she is now forced to consider filing a legal suit against them."
If inside reports are to be believed, the shoot of the entire season was not completed as scheduled due to various reasons and Tamannaah couldn't accommodate the show any further.
Tamannaah Bhatia and the makers of the TV show MasterChef Telugu continue to be at logger-heads when it comes to the actress’ exit from the show.
Reports surfaced a few days ago that she has been replaced by anchor-actress Anasuya Bharadwaj to host the show. A promo of the same was also uploaded by the channel but it made fans curious to know why Tamannaah, who was seemingly very excited to be on-board, had left the show. Soon the actress’ lawyer put out a statement alleging non-payment of fees. It reads, “Due to the non-payment of dues on MasterChef Telugu and unprofessional conduct by the production house Innovative Film Academy, Tamannaah Bhatia is being forced to take legal action. Despite the continuous non-payment and unprofessional approach, she cancelled other commitments and was determined to complete the entire project. However, since the production house has overnight stopped communication with her, she is now forced to consider filing a legal suit against them.”
The makers of the show now however hit back with a statement of their own, stating that they have approached Bangalore Civil Court & Commercial Court as per the terms signed by her. The statement reads, “We would like to bring to your kind notice that the claims made by the actor are false. The contract between Innovative Film Academy (IFA) and Tamannaah is for eighteen shoot days starting from 24 th June to the end of September. For this time period, the production house, IFA, had agreed to pay Actor Tamannaah Rs 2 Crore as per the contract that both parties have mutually agreed upon.”
The makers now allege that not only was the actress paid for sixteen days of shoot, they blame her for running behind schedule. “IFA has paid Tamannaah a total amount of Rs 1.56 Crores for sixteen days of the shoot that are done. The full shoot schedule was supposed to be completed between June 24 th and September but it is still not finished, owing to her other commitments. Due to the enormous delay by the artist, this has resulted in a loss of more than Rs 5 crores for the production house towards a huge standing cost of 300+ crew. The balance amount of Rs 50 lakhs was supposed to be released, as per the agreement, after the completion of the two days of shoot for the finale which is still not shot. Despite Tamannaah not furnishing her availability for the finale shoot, IFA has always maintained they will still pay her for those days once she comes and shoots the finale.”
They also allege that she ‘demanded’ advance payment for the second season, apart from more money to come back on-board for the remaining episodes. “At this juncture, Tamannaah has demanded advance payment for second season association as well in order to complete the finale shoot of the first season, which is shocking to us as we have not prepared for it. As per the agreed terms, any difference should be dealt with by arbitration but Tamannah took it to the media recently. As a responsible organisation we have taken the legal step on his subject.”
Tamannaah is currently shooting for Anil Ravipudi's F3 with Venkatesh, Varun Tej and Mehreen Pirzada. MasterChef Telugu was her debut on television.
