New music reality show ‘Rockstar’ to premiere on March 28
‘Rockstar’, a new music reality show is all set to entertain the audience from March 28. Devi Sri Prasad (DSP), Mano and Srinivas will be the judges in ‘Rockstar’.
Devi Sri Prasad (DSP) is a multifaceted talent, who is a music composer, singer and songwriter. DSP is making his TV debut for the first time on ‘RockStar’ as a member of the judging panel along with renowned singers and judges Mano and Srinivas.
‘Rockstar’, a unique celebrity music reality show brings together an accomplished gang of musical stars/ singers on one stage. For the first time ever, these talented groups of professional singers will compete with each other. The final winner will get crowned as Tamil Nadu’s first ever musical ‘Rockstar’.
The professional playback singers who feature as contenders are Priya Himesh, NSK Ramya, Chinna Ponnu, Rahul Nambiyar, Ranjith, Bamba Backiya, Sathyan Mahalingam, Vinaitha and Aishwarya Suresh.
Kiki and RJ Vijay will be hosting the Rockstar show.
Actor Kamal Haasan wished DSP and others and launched the promo music video of the ‘Rockstar’ show.
The audiences will witness the musical stars battling it out and discover who amongst them are exceptionally talented and vibrant artists. After going through multiple rounds of intense and exciting competitions, they get an opportunity to transform themselves from a star to rockstar.
The contestants will put in their best efforts and create musical magic on stage. On the other hand, the audience gets a chance to vote and support their favourite singers every week (starting from week 2 of the competition). The voting is done in the formats of missed calls given to unique numbers for the contestant’s week on week. The winner of each week/round is determined by the maximum number of missed calls.
Speaking about the launch of the show, Siju Prabhakaran, EVP & South Cluster Head says, "There will be no winner or loser at the end since all the contestants are established artists and are already favourites among the fans. The show would give these exceptional talents a chance to perform across unique rounds and find the one person who is going to win over the hearts of the people. We are bringing the best of the best to come together and prove themselves on the musical wrestling ring to discover the best version of themselves"
'Rockstar' will be aired on Sundays, 7.30 to 9.30 PM.
