Super Dancer Chapter 4's judge Shilpa Shetty is spellbound to see contestant Pratiti's dance


Kids' dance reality show Super Dancer Chapter 4 is back to entertain the audience with its amazing talent, host and the judges. This season celebrates 'Nachpan Ky Tyohaar' and has some phenomenal talent being showcased in the auditions rounds itself. One such contestant who impressed the judges with her precision and sincerity during the audition round is Pratiti Das from West Bengal.

The 10-year-old Pratiti, who hails from Howrah, performed the Indian Classical dance form - Bharatnatyam. The performance left everyone spellbound and she got a standing ovation from the judges Shilpa Shetty, Geeta Kapur and Anurag Basu.

Shilpa who was amazed with her unique 'chakrasana' step, and said, “Chakrasan mein dhi dhi tai karte hue pehli baar dekha hai kisi ko" (For the first time, I have seen someone do these dance steps in Chakrasana) and climbed the stairs for her. Geeta Kapur also felt her performance was 'Atti Uttam!' (Splendid performance).

How does it feel to be back on the judge's seat for Super Dancer?
Super Dancer is a wonderful platform which showcases new talent and new dance forms. It feels amazing to be back on the set and judge the show along with Shilpa (Shetty Kundra) and Geeta (Kapur), both of whom are great at what they do. The excitement for the new season is unmatched. I can’t wait for this wondrous journey to begin.

What does Nachpan Ka tyohaar mean to you?
To me, it is essentially the celebration of happiness that makes you dance in any given situation. Young contestants from across the country will take to the stage with rejuvenated energy, and dance away to spread cheer. That is what 'Nachpan Ka Tyohaar' is trying to convey to the viewers. The idea of Bachpan and Nachpan will bring a unique hue to the show.

Will the concept of Guru-Shishya remain the same this season?
Yes, that’s the core idea of our show. I believe that supervision and right guidance always help you achieve great heights in career and life. We have had some amazing choreographers who have mentored the kids’ season after season. It’s going to be challenging for us to pick the top contestants from such a phenomenal pool of talent and then assign the guru-shishya jodi.

What are the challenges of being a judge on a kids reality show? What qualities do you look for in contestants?
I do not think I can ever judge a reality show with adults. Kids are so pure they don't bother about winning or losing they just want to have a great time on the show. Super Dancer is like wonderland to them. And our job as a judges is to make this wonderland more wonderful for them.

How is your rapport with the other judges on the show?
The bond between Shilpa, Geeta and me is pretty cool. We have a lot of fun on the set. We understand each other’s humour and share a comfortable rapport. We are like a family now that we have been together in this show's journey for over three seasons.

Any tips that you would like to share with the contestants?
More than giving them advice, I would like to bless them, and hope that they stay safe, happy and enjoy dance whenever they perform.

‘Dance Dance Junior’ runner-up Soumit Barman cracks the final audition of ‘Super Dancer Chapter 4’



Remember Soumit Barman from reality show ‘Dance Dance Junior’ whom Mahaguru Mithun Chakraborty used to fondly call as ‘Pundibari’? Well, the kid is making his way from Bengali television to a national platform. ‘Dance Dance Junior’ runner-up Soumit has cracked the final audition of ‘Super Dancer Chapter 4’ starring Shilpa Shetty, Anurag Basu and Geeta Kapoor as the judges. He has entered the competition by securing his place among the top 13 contestants.

Soumit is from Pundibari, Cooch Behar. His sharp dance moves, expression, and dedication left the judges impressed just like how he stole Mithun’s heart with his very first performance in the show. Mithun predicted the kid would make everyone proud. He used to fondly call Soumit ‘Pundibari’ which later became his pet name in the competition.

Soumit’s family isn't financially sound and faces a lot of struggle to help their kid learn dancing. Mithun lauded the sacrifices made by his parents and their never say never attitude. In fact, Soumit's mom confessed on the stage of 'Super Dance Chapter 4' how they were forced to sell the prizes won by Soumit in order to continue his dance lessons.

Young Soumit gave a tough competition to all other participants in the reality show and was declared as the first runner-up of ‘Dance Dance Junior’, while Smriti Sarkar from Nadia won the title. Sohan Haque had bagged the third prize of the last season of ‘Dance Dance Junior’ which featured Srabanti Chatterjee and Soham Chakraborty as the judges.

Super Dancer 4: Shilpa Shetty gets nostalgic about her childhood moments with sister Shamita



Dance reality show 'Super Dancer - Chapter 4' has selected ‘Super 13’ contestants of the season and are going forward with all the contestants. They will be seen with their respective choreographers to celebrate ‘Nachpan Ka Tyohar’. This weekend, the Super Dancer, Chapter 4 will air its grand premiere episode. The contestants and the choreographers will be giving grand performances together.

Amidst all the dance acts, Mumbai contestant Aneesh Tattikota and choreographer Akash Shetty nailed their performance as they danced their way through a remixed track of ‘Allah Duhai Hai' from Race 2. On seeing their cool act, judge Anurag Basu said, “Kya power hai yar? Outstanding. Swag hai!” When Akash introduced himself as Akash Shetty and the moment judge Shilpa Shetty heard his name, she said, “Yeh show ka naam Super Dancer se Super Shetty Rakhna chahiye (laughs).”

Later Anurag asked Akash about his experience mentoring Aneesh, and Akash said, “I want to thank Aneesh for his hard work, because of him, I am here. I consider him as my younger brother. I was more nervous than him because he has already performed twice in front of you all and this was the first time for me.” Contestant Aneesh further revealed that he has fear of height and yet he managed to do flips and tricks in his dance act due to encouragement and support from his mentor Akash.

After getting amazing comments from all the judges, host Rithvik Dhanjani made a video call to Aneesh’s fans which turned out to be his elder brother. Aneesh and his brother revealed many of their secrets, and in no time they got carried away in a fun banter. Looking at which, judge Shilpa Shetty Kundra shared her experience growing up with younger sister Shamita. She said, "Shamita and I used to fight a lot, maybe because of the age gap. As a kid, there was not a single thing that I may have not used to throw at Shamita (Chuckles). Both my father and mother used to go to work, so there was a time when my mother sent me to my nani's house and those three months, I missed Shamita a lot. I think because of this show, Aneesh and his brother will start missing each other. And as they say, distance makes the hearts grow fonder.” Judge Anurag Basu also shared his childhood memories with his brother Abhishek and how they share a quintessential siblings’ bond and banter.

Super Dancer 4: Remo D'souza is spellbound by contestant Sanchit’s act; challenges him to do an impromptu dance on the song 'Bezubaan'



Getting a 'seedhi' ovation from a judge is the penultimate gesture of appreciation for any constant of Super Dancer Chapter-4. And contestant Sanchit Chanana's electrifying act forced two judges, including Remo S'souza, to climb the ladder.
The talented boy, together with his 'guru' Vartika, grooved to Shah Rukh Khan and Malaika Arora’s iconic number ‘Chhaiya Chhaiya’. The song was originally choreographed by Farah Khan, who is judging the show for an interim period alongside Remo. after watching the performance, Farah said,

"Even if I put him on a train, I think Sanchit will dance in the same way... I know now why Shilpa (judge Shilpa Shetty Kundra) calls you the 'jhatka king'. I see you in the top 3. You really have the potential to go right till the end of the show."

His performance left Farah Khan and Remo D'souza emotional, while Geeta who has followed the 10-year-old's journey from Super Dancer - Chapter 3, lauded him for bringing a "dance tsunami" on the stage. He was sent back from the last season to work on his talent and return, and what a comeback he has made this time.

The young boy hails from Nakodar, Jalandhar in Punjab, and stands out for his unique dance moves - mostly popping - which are backed by flawless footwork. The judges were left asking for more, and Remo had his way when he asked Sanchit to put up a solo act on the song ‘Bezubaan’. All three of them were awestruck by the impromptu performance and encouraged Sanchit to keep pursuing his passion.

"What you do has the ability to become a cult. People will start following it. It will become ‘Sanchit style," Remo said. Geeta also expressed confidence that he will become a "trendsetter".

Exclusive! Malaika Arora steps in for Shilpa Shetty as a judge on Super Dancer



Dance reality show Super Dancer 4 relocated to Daman last week. Judges Shilpa Shetty and Anurag Basu opted out of the show for a couple of weeks citing personal commitments. Remo and Farah Khan stepped into their shoes last week and shot from Mumbai. After the relocation, however, now Anurag is back with Geeta as a judge, but Shilpa will take some more time to return. Hence the makers have roped in Malaika Arora, who will step in for Shilpa.

Producer Ranjeet Thakur says, "Shilpa won't be able to judge the show for a few episodes, so we have brought Malaika Arora in her place. Terence Lewis too will join them in the upcoming episode."

Ask Ranjeet about shooting in Daman and he says,

"The entire team is here and everyone is getting checked regularly. We are also taking all the precautions. Even when the judges travel from Mumbai to Daman, they have to get their tests done before they start shooting. These are tough times and we are working with less people."

Super Dancer is a dance reality show, which has talented kids from across the country participating. Terence said,

"It was interesting to get back on the sets and judge the show. In the current pandemic situation, the kids are doing fantastic and kudos to the entire team for working in such conditions. "

Due to restrictions in Maharastra extended till May 14, many TV shows have relocated out of Maharastra. While Super Dancer and Indian Idol teams relocated to Daman, the Dance Deewane team relocated to Bangalore.

Super Dancer 4: Terence Lewis joins contestant Sprihaa to perform with her on stage




Super Dancer – Chapter 4 continues to mesmerise the judges, the audience and especially the guest judges who witnessed such young talents give top-notch performances. This weekend judges - Geeta Kapur and Anurag Basu - will be accompanied by guests Malaika Arora and Terence Lewis.
While all the dance performances amazed all the four judges, there was one contestant that compelled Terence to get on stage and perform with her. Sprihaa Kashyap from Assam stunned the judges with her contemporary dance performance on the song ‘Janam Janam’ along with super guru Sanam Johar.

Malaika Arora said,

"Outstanding, I can’t believe it. It is very difficult to perform a dance act of this genre with a kid, but Sanam, you made it look so delicate. Sprihaa, you are a very dedicated student. You are a delight, Sprihaa."

Terence Lewis said, "I have known Sanam for years now, he has got years of experience, but Sprihaa, you have matched Sanam so beautifully. At such a small age you can do this, it is incredible. It's a superbly executed act. I wish to be born again with the kind of flexibility Sprihaa has."

Anurag dada, who seemed proud of all the contestants said,

"The act was poetry in motion. I am speechless. We all are missing Shilpa, so on her behalf, let us get the Seedhi". Terence and Malaika both got on the seedhi (ladder) along with Sprihaa. Geeta Kapur did Sajda and said, “We listen to music, but today, I saw music on this stage.”
