Here's an update regarding the major cast change in the TV serial. The male lead of the TV serial, Suresh Menon, has announced his walk out due to undisclosed reasons. Close sources now confirm that he will be replaced by Suresh Babu as 'Krishna' in the upcoming episodes.
The storyline of the show begins with Krishna (now Suresh Babu) slapping his wife Meera (Kushbu) in front of their two kids as she shuns his attitude. Meera decides to live separately from her husband. The storyline begins after a gap of 16 years, when the kids are fully grown. Will the family reunite and will Meera be able to love Krishna once again, forming the crux of the story.
The show ‘Meera’ aims to enlighten the audience that women from different socio-economical backgrounds face such brutality, even if they are well-educated or belong to the urban population.
While talking about the show in an exclusive conversation with ETimes TV, Kushbu said, "The story of Meera needs to be told because, if a woman agrees to be a victim of physical and verbal abuse, the behaviour will be passed on to her kids. Her girl child might tend to think it is fine for a man to hit her, because my amma was ok with it. A boy child might think it is my birth right to hit a woman, since my dad did it and my mom was OK with it. While looking at the issues women face in society, we say ‘the first lesson starts at home’. That’s the crux of our story."
After a lot of hurdles, daily soap Meera is gearing up for Dr. Meera to go back to Krishna's house. In the sneak peak released today (April 28), Dr. Krishna, the husband of Meera, invites her back to the house. He says that he misses his daughter, Adhira, as much as Meera misses her son Ajay, and he requests Meera to come back to his house.

About the Serial, Story:

With a lot of suspense in the storyline, the makers are now all set to air the special episode of Meera this Saturday (May 1). The episode will witness Meera entering Krishna's house for a reunion. However, it remains to be seen if this reunion will be as smooth as it sounds. Will Ajay understand and reconcile with his mother?

I happened to meet a lot of women who face violence and abuse in their married life. Abuse can be verbal too." She adds, "Most women, even educated women, think it is fine to adjust, and they are taking it for the sake of their husbands. I am not arguing that splitting is the only option, but we should not bring ourselves to the position where a man can turn around and hit you."
