Dhoondh Legi Manzil Humein
is an Indian television series on STAR One, produced by Sanjay Surkar. The show is set in a political backdrop and is a charming love story set amidst the political mindset.[1][2] The show is from famous marathi director Sanjay Surkar who directed Aapki Antara for Zee TV.

Plot

This is the story of Alka, the daughter of a big shot politician with a huge clout. Life is all smiles and cheer for Alka in the USA, where she is studying to become a doctor. It changes forever when she comes down to India for a vacation. Alka falls in love with her childhood friend Chander, while she is at her father’s place in India. Alka's vision on bringing a new outlook to political power tranforms her from Alka to Alka tiwari. Chander is a young, enthusiastic man who is a part of Alka’s father’s political party, and is actively involved in protecting the rights of the downtrodden.

Star One's Dhoond Legi Manzil Hamein has been inspired by the famous Marathi movie Gharabaher which got released six years back..

Star One's upcoming show Dhoondh Legi Manzil Humein which is produced by Sanjay Surkar's Sarvam Communications is inspired by the Marathi movie titled Gharabaher .

Coincidentally, Sanjay Surkar was the Director of the very popular Marathi movie, and now it is the same movie which inspires him to turn Producer on television.

Talking about his journey from Director to Producer, Sanjay Surkar told TellyBuzz, "I never thought of producing any show, but the channel insisted me to take charge of it. The show is inspired by my Marathi movie Gharabaher, which released six years back. And as the show's concept is mine it became easy for me to look after both the aspects of creativity and production".

On the idea of converting his movie into a daily soap, he says, "In between I was busy with some other work, and could not concentrate on making a daily soap. And the other reason would be that I wanted the show to grow on a larger canvas and wanted the concept to reach every youth of the country. Initially I thought of taking the show to a Marathi channel, but the concept and the flavour of the show forced me to pitch it to Star One".

Don't forget to watch a very inspiring coming-of-age story of a normal young woman to an extraordinary leader, Dhoondh Legi Manzil Humein, starting November 22nd Nov at 9:00 pm.

Sara Khan as Alka

A 23 year old spunky, bright and witty girl; living in New York when we find her; she is a very today’s girl; living alone; very cosmopolitan; very independent; has a little fuzzy worldview, essentially due to the privileged life she has led so far. She is at a stage where she is studying architecture but she is yet to discover her true calling in life; when we find her she does not even know if there is anything like a true calling because she has not seen depravity of any sort; conflict of any kind; all the important decisions of her life have been made by parents; her father essentially, like which college will she go to; what subjects will she read, when she should be getting married etc; she has been so accustomed to this kind of living that she has never even thought that she too can have an opinion about her life and the choices that are made for her; but off late she is not too comfortable with idea of marrying an Indian and settling in India, something her father has been very softly suggesting. She was sent to hostel when she was just 12; and now her visits to India has been restricted to occasional vacations; somewhere she connects more with her current life in New York and the freedom that she has just started exploring.

During the course of the series we see her evolve from being an under dog in situations and turmoil in India to become a woman who discovers that she not only has all the power to write her own destiny but also to change the course of history.

Mohan Joshi as Nityanand Tewari

60 years of age, fondly called NNT. A very calm, composed, balanced and seasoned politician. He is epitome of dignity; when he speaks the world stops to listen; in his last portfolio he held the education ministry office and since then has opened many schools and colleges; he rules the education mafia of the state; which not many know; at home he is unlike a politician; seeing him with his family it is impossible to tell so. In our story we find him at a stage when he is the centre of the world; in control; of his political life and family; no one defies him; as the story progresses, we see his color of desperation. He becomes the fallen king who wants to save his kingdom at any cost.

Deepak Wadhwa as Abhishek Tiwari

27 years old; NNT’s eldest son; a budding politician; absolutely unlike his father, he is volatile, aggressive, short tempered and his biggest folly is lack of foresight. In a way he is NNT’s nightmare; he abuses his father’s name & power everywhere. in our story we find him at a stage where he is gearing up to take on father’s political baton when constitutional changes diminish his dreams, making him even more volatile. His journey retells the tale of “one, who lives by sword, dies by sword”.
