Story, Film is about:
Based on Prithviraj Raso, a biopic of legendary Hindu warrior king "PRITHVIRAJ CHAUHAN" which captures his early life, military accomplishments, marriage to Sanyukta and battle with Muhammad of Ghor who led the Islamic conquest of Hindustan (India).

The director originally wanted to make the film with Sunny Deol and Aishwarya Rai n 2004. But the producers kept backing out. Then Ajay Devgan also wanted to make his own version with Rajkumar Santoshi. That film also failed to get started .
Film is stuck at various stages of production due to the lockdown
The film was announced by Yash Raj Films on Akshay Kumar's 52nd Birthday on 9 September, 2019.
Prithviraj was slated for a Diwali release this year, but the release for this project also seems uncertain due to the rising coronavirus scare.

Akshay Kumar, born September 9, 1967, is an actor. He studied martial arts in Hong Kong. It was a student that suggested that he try modeling. Because of his success as model, he was offered films. Akshay Kumar-starrer Prithviraj sets confirmed to be Destroyed before monsoon!

The extension of shoots has milled a lot of problems for the producers of upcoming projects. With monsoon nearing, sets are always feared of being demolished due to the rains which would be an addition to the pre-existing problems. Meanwhile, the only option remains is dismantling the sets for the time being. This will also lower the cost of maintenance.

A Mid-day report has stated that the sets for the upcoming period epic Prithviraj, starring Akshay Kumar, will be taken down because the cost of maintaining them during the coronavirus lockdown was proving to be too high to bear.

With no filming expected to take place before the monsoon, the filmmakers reportedly took the decision to destroy the Dahisar sets as YashRaj Films has confirmed.

The report quoted a source saying, “The head honchos of Yash Raj Films had kept the set standing over the past two months, hoping that the situation would improve soon. However, with the rains only weeks away, it doesn’t seem feasible to retain the set any longer. The makers are currently procuring necessary permission to have it pulled down. Akshay had filmed a major portion of the Chandraprakash Dwivedi-directed drama at the Dahisar set before the lockdown was announced, but some crucial sequences have yet to be shot.”

According to YashRaj, the sequences will now be shot at an indoor set, once filming is allowed to resume. Two sets were erected at Dahisar, according to the report. One was a palace and the other an arena in which an action sequence was supposed to be filmed.

Prithviraj was slated for a Diwali release this year, but the release for this project also seems uncertain due to the rising coronavirus scare. Another of his films, Sooryavanshi, was ready for release in March, but even that is being delayed. However, Akki’s Laxxmi Bomb is rumored to be headed directly to a streaming platform.
