Default Google Pixel 4 finally gets the ‘eyes open’ feature for face unlock in the latest upd

Google has just rolled out a new update to its latest Pixel smartphone in the market, the Google Pixel 4. As part of the update, the company is rolling out the latest April 2020 Android security patch. However, the April security patch is not the most sought out feature of the new update. The company is finally rolling out the “requires eyes to be open” feature for its face unlock feature. This means that users will finally be required to open their eyes while using face unlock on their Pixel 4. Let’s check out the details about this new feature and more below.

Google Pixel 4 eyes open feature details

The new “eyes open” feature comes almost six months after the company initially announced that it will bring the feature. As part of the new update, this feature will be enabled by default to provide extra security. However, users have the option to disable this option. It is interesting to note there the company launched its’ Google Pixel 4 with this critical feature. The lack of this feature was one of the primary problems at launch. Digging deeper, the lack of “eyes open” feature allowed anyone around you to unlock your device as you were sleeping. It is also amusing to note how Pixel 4 features the most advanced face unlock hardware on an Android smartphone.
