A spectacular Opening Ceremony marked the beginning of the XIX Commonwealth Games on Sunday at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi. Amid exceptional pomp and splendor the rich culture of India was showcased in vivid colour. There was music, lights, performances, speeches, fireworks and pride. Lots of national pride. The Commonwealth Games Federation flag, along with the national flags of all the 72 participating nations, fluttered at the stadium.
