On this note, ETimes TV got Nirupam talking about the show, its conclusion, his journey so far and much more.
- Talking about on the news of the show's conclusion, Nirupam said, "Yes, the show is ending and we are not going to return now (laughs). Well, this was a decision taken very recently and we got to know only towards the end of December I guess. It was a mixed feeling actually, you know, because we stepped away for a while after our characters were ended with an accident and then we had to soon comeback amid all the anticipation and hype and then one day you get to know about the show ending."

"Even celebrities like Muralimohan garu (senior actor-producer) asking me about the climax and Paruchuri Gopalakrishna garu (renowned playwright) called up asking when can he see me next. We were fortunate to have many from the film fraternity encourage us throughout this journey," says Nirupam.
- Ask Nirupam, who is a writer himself, about the kind of climax in his head, he quickly laughed and said, "Well, I would have ended the show back when our characters met with an accident and proceeded with the generation leap instead. Anyways it's just a personal opinion. The makers are the better ones to decide and back then their strategy was different."
- Elaborating on his attachment and journey with his character, the coveted actor said, "We get to see family dramas on TV often and everyone can connect to the female protagonist who has a lot of problems quite easily. But audience might not like or accept a man crying or getting emotional. So, it was a challenge for me as an actor to convince the viewer with Karthik's problems, his emotional breakdowns and why he is doing so. I was a tad worried initially if my character would earn negativity. But it was a blessing that the audiences always sympathised and empathised with Karthik and took him to heart."
- Even an actor and TV producer like Nirupam found something about the show interesting. "I was always amazed at the way the makers have handled a small yet sensitive and deep concept like this throughout this journey of 1500 plus episodes. Basically, the show will end if Karthik comes to know about Deepa's truth and understand Monitha's cruelty but running the show on sensibly keeping the theme, drama and suspense intact was something exceptional. Especially, sequences like the family taking Deepa's side and criticising my character and also Sourya calling my character 'Nanna' for the first time et al got an unexpectedly overwhelming response," reveals Nirupam.
- When quizzed about his next move, Nirupam said, "I want to continue doing TV but to quench my creative thirst, I'm also looking forward to trying something new on OTT space as well. I'm hearing to a few scripts and will sure let you all know what I'm up to next." Here are Nirupam aka Doctor Babu's last lines about the show. "Well, I must say Karthika Deepam has become an addiction to many. I've been receiving messages from many expressing how unhappy with the show's ending. But I feel something good or better will fill its space. I hope it can be the new show Brahmamudi also. Because, shows like Mogalirekulu, Chakravakam used to have a cult following and then Karthika Deepam happened. There can be something else tomorrow, we never know. Nothing is permanent I believe. All I can say is Karthika Deepam created history and aa deepam ippudu andari manasullo velugutu untundi (and the diya called Karthika Deepam will stay in the hearts of Telugu audiences forever)."

While the actress has revealed in one of her recent vlogs that she had to quit the show, a few pictures on Instagram are dropping enough hints that she is back into the show. In these pictures that surfaced online, Shobha can be seen as Monitha and interestingly, her right hand with a dressing. A week-old pictures of her dolled up in a yellow outfit also fuel speculations of her comeback into the show. It remains to be seen what twist the old villain is about to bring. Shobha has been missing from the show for a while now, especially after her character 'Monitha' was sent to jail.  Karthik to give a new twist; rejects Sourya, While Karthik and Deepa have just reunited with their family, yet another tragedy has struck them. In the upcoming episodes, Karthik will learn about Deepa's critical condition. Monitha will reach Tadikonda village following Soundarya and Anand Rao's car. The elderly couple will reach the village with an unexpected reason. Monitha will come close to discovering Deepa caressing her baby boy (Anand). For the unversed, Koteshu has kidnapped Monitha's baby boy from her car. He returns to Tadikonda and lies to Karthik and Deepa that he has adopted the baby. However, Koteshu and wife Srivalli were recently ******ed by Rudraani who is now taking her revenge on Karthik and Deepa as well. Karthik and Deepa have unofficially adopted the baby boy amidst Rudraani's threats.
- Deepa and Karthik find a job at the same hotel but the two are unaware of the same. Monitha stalks Soundarya and finds her and Anand Rao bidding goodbye to Adithya and Shravya. Monitha wonders if they've found out Karthik's whereabouts.

 Karthik will be tested in every possible way in Karthika Deepam. Animosity with Rudraani on one hand coupled with poverty on the other, Karthik is facing a tough time. Karthik will warn Rudraani to stay away from his daughters. However, it has only worsened his state in the future. The upcoming episodes will have Karthik having a breakdown in public and Deepa will come to his rescue. Deepa will emotionally lash out at Karthik for signing up an unfair contract that lets Rudraani snatch Hima away. This will instigate Karthik into warning Rudraani.
- Rudraani is the villain in Karthik and Deepa's new journey and she is back to throw a stone into the latter's pool. As per the latest reports, Rudraani will disturb the naming ceremony of Koteshu and Srivalli's baby. Deepa and Karthik will personally organise the close and cozy ceremony. However, Deepa exposes Monitha's ploy to become Karthik's wife officially. As Karthik becomes the new president of the doctors' association, Monitha intoxicates Karthik's coffee before a crucial surgery and as a result, he feels dizzy during the surgery and the patient accidentally dies. Karthik loses his doctor's license and unable to handle the shame, Karthik leaves the city with Deepa and his two daughters.
 Deepa will get the shock of her life in Karthika Deepam. Soundarya forces Karthik to participate in the special ritual along with Monitha. Deepa will find Monitha and Nirupam at the temple performing a special ritual. Much to her dismay, Soundarya will be seen presiding over the ritual. This will leave Deepa shattered. Deepa is already on the verge of concluding that Karthik and Soundarya are keeping a grave secret from her. She is afraid that Soundarya and Karthik are doing injustice to her. Karthik is already reluctant to participate in the ritual as it means he has accepted Monitha as his wife and her child as his baby. Even Anand Rao is against Soundarya's decision to drag Monitha to the ritual just to save Karthik.
- Karthik has slipped into a pit especially after he was forced into signing the documents as Monitha's husband for the latter's delivery.  Vihari and Tulasi to make an unexpected entry: While Soundarya has decided that Karthik should leave for the US along with his family, they will experience yet another shock, Vihari and Tulasi will leave Karthik and family shocked with their unexpected entry. They will enter at a crucial juncture when Aditya tries to convince Hima that Karthik is innocent.
 Swapna is on revenge mode now. She will lash out at her mother Soundarya when the latter pays her a visit in the upcoming episode. As per the latest reports, Swapna will humiliate Soundarya recalling how the latter mistreated her daughter in the past.
 Karthika Deepam is trying to engage fans with Monitha and her never-ending conspiracies. Latest, she is making some lethal moves in her mission to take revenge on Deepa. It's a fate-changing court hearing for Karthik and when the court is about to pronounce its verdict, Deepa will make an unexpected entry. Deepa will produce Monitha in the court at the nick of the moment. Monitha will confess her crimes in court and Karthik will be acquitted. Police to take Monitha into custody.
- Monitha is alive and to shoot Deepa but failed, now planning for Plan B: Monitha tries to shoot but fails to kil Deepa at the temple, her plan is ruined by Durga and Anji. Monitha will decide to implement her new plan B, shared her lethal plan with Ratna Sita, Sita warns Monitha about the risk involved in the plan, the latter is determined to execute it
 - Earlier: Karthik and Monitha had a major showdown where the latter confessed all her crimes after which a gunshot was heard in the room. Next morning, Karthik was arrested based on Bhagyam's witness and the available evidence. Though Karthik claims to be innocent, ACP Roshini is bent upon proving him guilty for allegedly mu*dering Monitha.
- Soundarya will be seen in the show in order to save Karthik from case. ACP Roshini who has been favourable to Deepa and Karthik in her investigation into Monitha's complaint so far, will soon arrest Karthik alleging him of mu*dering Monitha. Karthik's arrest will leave Deepa, Hima, Sourya and others devastated.
- Anand Rao will reject Karthik's treatment after suffering from a cardiac arrest. This will leave Karthik heartbroken as his father hates him now as Monita is pregnant with Karthik's child. This will leave Anand Rao devastated. It remains to be seen how Anand Rao will recover from this shock.

Earlier Karthik had an emotional breakdown in front of Deepa and He apologised to Deepa finally and reveal to her that it was Monitha who told that he was impotent in the past. He loathes his ill fate for being responsible for Monitha's pregnancy as well.

He never liked the book which often reminded him of Deepa's alleged illicit affair with Vihari.

- Karthik realized: Karthik get to know his grave mistake, he realised his sin of questioning Deepa's chastity ten years ago after the doctor revealed that Vihari is impotent. Karthik devastated and break downed.
- Deepa's health issue: Deepa learned the shocking truth that she may not survive for long and she shattered and more worried about the kids. All that she is seeking right now is Karthik's love. - Soundarya to take a shocking decision - Soundarya was sandwiched between Deepa and Karthik and she takes a shocking decision. Deepa after a heated argument with Karthik will emotionally decide to return to Sriramnagar basti.
- Karthik accepts Deepa: Karthik has been runs out of options to convince Deepa into accepting medication so Karthik slaps Deepa after she blatantly refuses to take medicines and he justifies his right to slap Deepa as a doting and dutiful husband. Deepa gets emotional and hugs Karthik after he slaps and accepts her as his wife, something which he has been denying for a decade in the show. Karthik brought back Deepa and his daughters to convince her for the treatment and his recent discovery leaves Monitha petrified. Karthik shares with Monitha that some toxic drug was injected into Deepa's body which has ruined her health. Monitha injected that toxic drug to Deepa during the latter's pregnancy. She did the same in an attempt to kil Deepa after the latter stepped out of the house. And Monitha will try to swap these lethal pills with Deepa's regular dose of medicines during the special ritual that she is attending along with Bharati.

Story, TV Show is about:
- Karthika Deepam which is the Telugu remake of Malayalam daily soap Karuthamuthu
- For the unversed, Hima and Sourya are twins born to Karthika and Deepa. But Karthik accused Deepa of infidelity and disowned her by the time Hima and Sourya were born. Soundarya separates Hima from Sourya and Deepa at the time of birth without anyone's knowledge and introduces her (Hima) to Karthik as an orphan. Soundarya hopes Karthik and Deepa would reconcile at least for the sake of their twin daughters. Sourya recently came to know that Karthik is her father and Hima learns that Karthik lied to her that her mother died.
- Earlier story - the story revolves around the life of Deepa, a dark-skinned and pure-hearten girl. She faces several trials and tribulations due to her dark-skin complexion. She gets married to a Doctor, Karthik (Nirupam Paritala) who becomes her faith of love and support in every conditions. Now story is focusing on kids.
