One of the side-effects of this situation of restarting shoots post lockdown has been how some of the most loved and favorite shows are going through major changes in terms of the casting and other things. Another show that has also succumbed to changes but for other reasons is the pan India favorite, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. As we know, two favorites from the show, Neha Mehta and Gurucharan Singh aka Anjali Mehta and Roshan Singh Sodhi respectively have quit the show.

While, we already know that actor Balwinder Singh Suri is the one who has replaced Singh as Sodhi, there was no update about who will be replacing Mehta as Anjali till now.

Now, according to Bombay Times, it can be confirmed that actor Sunayna Fozdar is the one who has replaced Mehta. The exact reason for Mehta quitting the show continues to be unclear as of yet but it is sealed that Fozdar has replaced Mehta and has, in fact, started shooting today onwards. Apart from these two changes, we also witnessed the entry of Rakesh Bedi as Taarak Mehta's (Shailesh Lodha) boss recently, and that will be a cameo.

Coming to Fozdar, th actor doesn't need much introduction where she has been a part of an array of shows over theyears like Ek Rishta Saajhedaari Ka, Belan Wali Bahu and others.

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah will be witnessing another replacement as Neha Mehta has decided to quit the show. We got in touch with her and here's what she has to say.



Post lockdown relaxations have brought in a new set of challenges for the makers of long-running comedy show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. Earlier, there were reports doing the rounds that Gurucharan Singh, who plays Roshan Sodhi had quit the show. And after that, there were also reports about Neha Mehta aka Anjali Bhabhi, moving on from the show.

And recently, reports suggested that Sunayana Fozdar, will be stepping into the shoes of Neha Mehta's character. Neha was a part of TMKOC for 12 years and now, Sunayana Fozdar will be seen playing the role of Taarak Mehta's (Sailesh Lodha) wife, Anjali.

India Forums got in touch with Neha Mehta regarding the same, and she said, "Yes I have quit the show with a lot of pain. I have great respect for Producer Asit Modi. The show will always remain at the top of my heart. At this moment, I only want to say that all women's dignity is first and that's the same for me, and for me, it was very sensible right now moving out from the show. But I will always be entertaining the audience with good quality performance"

It is indeed no secret that actor Neha Mehta has quit her 12 year stint in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah where she played the role of Anjali Mehta. Even though the exact reason of Neha quitting hasn't been known as of yet but her quotes suggested about maintaining 'dignity' apart from being nothing but thankful to the producer and to her co-actors.

Nevertheless, we also know that actor Sunayana Fozdar has become the one who has replaced Mehta in the show and has even started shooting for it.

Replacing someone who has been a fan favorite in as big a show that is Taarak Mehta.. is indeed a challenge and the actor opened up on the same in an interview with IWMbuzz. She said, “I and my family have always watched the show. I am very excited to join the cast. It all happened overnight hence, it’s yet to sink in. Having said that, I want to focus on work and give my best.”

On if she is feeling the pressure, she said, “Obviously, there is. I would be lying if I say that there is no pressure. 12 years is a long time and people are watching the character every day on their screens. Having said that producer and director have been very chilled out and they have made me feel extra conformable. I want to thank Asit sir for this opportunity. Taarak aka Sailesh ji has also been very sweet. The pressure is in my head as I hope the audience accepts me. They have a special corner for Neha and she has been fabulous for 12 years as Anjali. It is not easy to stick around for so long. She was amazing and people love her so much, I hope to receive the same love.”

Talking about what she will be doing with the character, she said, “I would be keeping the basics of the character intact. I won’t change the thinking of the character. Having said that, I am not going to mimic Neha but get in my own flavour. I want to become Anjali for the audiences.” Interestingly, Fozdar reunited with actor Raj Anadkat where they worked together in Ek Rishta Saajhedaari ka on Sony TV. On the same she said, “Raj who plays the role of Tappu was with me in TV show Ek Rishta Sajhedaari Ka. I was playing his Bhabhi in the show. I have not met him on set as of now as we have not had our shoot together. We had a good bond there. Otherwise, also, the cast of Taarak cast has also been very welcoming. They came and spoke to me and made me conformable.”

Talking about her favourite character in the show, she says, “Dayaben and Jethaa Lal has been favourite of a lot of people. Daya ben has been very cute and funny.”

In conclusion, she said, “I want fans to support me. I would request them to be kind to me. Honestly, I don’t want to get into her (Neha) shoes but I want to get a new pair of shoes and I hope audiences accept that. I won’t be able to be exactly like Neha but I will do my best. My main motto is to entertain audiences and I will do that for sure. I just want them to give me a chance.”

SAB TV's Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is one of the longest and popular running shows. It has been keeping the audiences glued to the show with regular plots twists and drama. Post lockdown, the show has come back with a rather interesting track.

We have already seen that Jethalal tells Sundar how he is fed up with the dreams he sees every day. And then, Sundar suggests that he will think of some idea but Jethalal gets worried and asks him not to. He assures Jethalal that he will come up with the best solution for him.

In today’s episode, Jethaa Lal hopes to do a good selfless deed by preparing fresh hot pakoras for his dear friend Taarak Mehta. However, unfortunately, he bumps into Goli in the S\society compound, who immediately knows there’s a treat in the container that Jethaa Lal is carrying with him. The container lands into Goli's hands & Jethaa Lal is left with no choice but to beg him to spare some of the pakoras.

But we all know how much Goli loves his food. Jethaa Lal chases Goli all across the compound, pleading him to not consume the pakoras but to no avail. The pleads fall on deaf ears and Goli easily manages to dodge Jethaa Lal as he munches away all of the pakoras. From begging sympathetically, Jethaa Lal’s emotions crescendo with fury and despair as he helplessly watches his pakoras disappear one by one into Goli’s mouth.

The upcoming episode of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (TMKOC), produced by Neela Film Productions Private Limited, will see Jethaalal bounce all over the place with joy. Yes! After several fidgety nights filled with nightmares, Jethaalal has finally had a fully peaceful night’s sleep. He’s so excited about it that, for a change, he wakes up early to break the good news to Bapuji and Tapu. And because they are still asleep, Jethaalal decides to play a small prank to wake them up.

While all of Jethaalal’s deliberate efforts to do a good deed fail, an opportunity presents itself to him. At Bhide’s house, Jethaalal is trying his best to convince Bhide to accept three months’ maintenance cheque in the hope that this gesture would become that one good deed that in turn would help him get a peaceful night’s sleep. But Bhide flatly refuses to accept it.

However, in the midst of this debate, something happens that changes the fate for Jethaalal. This turn of event is all that Jethaalal needs that will fulfill the condition for him to have a nightmares-free sleep. And this is exactly what happens next. Alas, Jethaalal wakes up the following morning feeling great but also, in the mood for a prank. The prank may not be to Bapuji’s liking but, Jethaalal cannot resist himself.
