‘Mr & Mrs. Chinnathirai’ fame Jack to make his debut with ‘Namma Veetu Pillai’Playback singer Roshini and her husband Jack gained popularity by appearing on "Mr & Mrs. Chinnathirai’, a reality show for couples. Now, Jack is set to make his debut with ‘Namma Veetu Ponnu’ The Shivakanth character in Namma Veetu Ponnu, which was portrayed by actor Praveen Nandhagopal, is replaced by Jack. It has been said that Jack quit the I.T job in the US to pursue his passion for acting. After their participation in ‘Mr and Mrs Chinnathirai", Jack received the spotlight. Despite the couple not winning the title, they gained a huge support from fans. Roshini is a well-known singer among the Tamil audience. Recently, her song ‘Tum Tum’ from the movie ‘Enemy’ is a chartbuster. She also participated in the seventh season of ‘super singers’, a famous singing reality show. Roshini, along with her sister Anita, performed the feat of 'singing non-stop for 37 hours', which earned them a place in the Guinness Book of World Records.
Namma Veettu Ponnu, a new family drama, is all set to premiere on August 16. The show will be aired in the afternoon slot.
The ensemble of the cast includes Surjith Kumar (as Karthik), Ashwini Aanandita (as Meenakshi), Ravi (as Velayutham), Nithya (as Visalakshi), Priyadharshini (as Selvi), Vaishali Thaniga (as Malar), Arunima Sudhakar (as Anu), Shabnam (as Vadivu) and many others.

About the show:

Namma Veettu Ponnu will be a family drama filled with loads of fun and emotions.
According to the story, Surjith Kumar meets Ashwini Aanandita at a family event. He takes a dig at Ashwini for her playful attitude, which infuriates her. But, the guests admire their and plan to get them married. The consequences of their wedding form the crux of the story.
Premiere on August 16. The show will be aired in the afternoon slot.
Many Bengali shows are being remade into different languages. Keeping the tradition alive, comedy-drama ‘Khorkuto’ has been remade in Tamil as ‘Namma Veetu Ponnu’.
Khorkuto’s story is penned by Leena Gangopadhyay who is also writing for Hindi show ‘Thoda Sa Badal Thoda Sa Pani’ along with a few other TV serials.
Which is aired in Star Vijay TV.

Story:

Namma Veettu Ponnu's story revolves around characters Karthik and Meenakshi. Karthik is a responsible guy who is born and brought up in a joint-family atmosphere. He values family bondings and emotions to the core.
On the other hand, Meenakshi is a quite contrasting personality to that of Karthik. As she is brought up as a single child, she is quite stubborn and adamant in nature, who is short tempered too.
In an unexpected turn of events, both Karthik and Meenakshi meet together at a family function. Their first meeting happens with a fight. But, the family members admire their combination and begin to make plans to fix their marriage.
Following this, whether they become a couple and what happens in their lives form the major crux of the show.

Surjith Kumar is all set to entertain the audience with his upcoming show ‘Namma Veettu Ponnu’. Surjith Kumar will be portraying the role of Karthik in the show. Surjith is one of the highly educated Tamil TV celebs with an under graduate degree in Engineering and MBA. He worked as a HR before taking a plunge into modeling and acting. He was last seen in the TV show Uyire.
Ashwini Aanandita, A new budding Actress of South India, started working with Star Vijay TV for the Serial "Namma Veettu Ponnu", as a Female Lead. Originated from Karnataka, started as a Model and now performing as a an Actress. Ashwini Aanandita aka Aswini Anandita, is an Indian Television Actress. An experience model in Kannada media Industry, later started her career with Tamil TV shows as a Heroine. She was born on 21st April 1994 (Birthday) at Karnataka. Ashwini Aanandita’s Age is 27 years (Current age). Ashwini hails from Interior Karnataka, religion belongs to is Hindu and nationality, Indian. She is popular as one of the contestants of Pyate Hudgir Halli Life Season 3, Finalist of Hallihyda Pyateg Banda Season 2 and also a contestant of dance reality show Dance Jodi Dance. Her mother tongue is Kannada, but she is multilingual. She has completed her School and College at her Home town. ‘Khorkuto’ completed a year on Bengali television.
It has an ensemble cast that includes some of the finest and senior most actors of this industry including Dulal Lahiri, Chandan Sen, Sohini Sengupta, Ratna Ghosal, Badshah Moitra and others. It also features Ambarish Bhattacharya, Anushree Das, Rajanya Mitra, Debottam Majumder, Priyanka Mitra, Raja Goswami, Malabika Sen and others.
Koushik and Trina as lead pair, Soujanya-Gungun enjoy a good fan following. The feel-good factor in the story and the bond among the members of a joint family managed to strike a bond with the audience. The show started scoring well on the TRP charts right after its launch.
