Akshay Kumar gave away a great kick start to Star Plus's upcoming cooking reality show, Master Chef India...

Standing by its new oath 'Rishta wahi Soch Naye', Star Plus gets an internationally acclaimed show Master Chef India on Indian Televisions to acknowledge and encourage the culinary s****s of passionate cooks and groom them to become the ultimate professionals of the art.

And that's not all as the channel has also worked on to make it explicitly big by presenting the Khiladi of Bollywood, Akshay Kumar in a completely new role as he would preside over as the host as well as the judge on the show.

As it is well known that the ace actor, Akshay Kumar masters in whatever he opts to work on and it's not news for his fans that he himself has worked as a chef in Thailand prior his career as an actor. Also as he is a complete food lover it seems he has all the reasons to be on this show.

Also he showed all his enthusiasm in regards to the show through his dance that he performed last night at the launch conference of the show.

Showcasing complete positivity about the show Akshay Kumar asserted, "I'm passionate about three things in life food, martial arts and acting. So through this platform I really want the people who have spent all theirs years cooking delicious food for their family to come ahead and receive acclaims for their talents."

Also when asked who is his Master Chef in real life in a very humble tone he replied, "My grandmother and there is a cook who works in a Gurudwara in Chandni Chowk they are the master chef's of my life."

And as the versatile actor celebrates his Birthday today the channel took the opportunity of expressing their good wishes by a small cake cutting ceremony at the conference.

The actor as always very well caught the attention of the audience at the conference and the channel also holds high expectation from the same. But what kind of a cooking magic it creates will only be known once it comes on air.

The show is scheduled to telecast since October 16th, Saturday- Sunday 9pm only on Star Plus.

We say that the winner of the show is a winner in life because this is a tough game. And the winner’s life only transforms for the best, for the MasterChef India title owner wins one crore prize money, a cookery show on Star network and a cookery book published in his or her name. So, lets get to know who has it to take home a fortune.

Jayanandan Bhaskar is a businessman who used to run a fast food counter that he was forced to shut down due to lack of finance. His parents expired when he was in school and he has 4 siblings. Multi-talented

Joe Bath is a TV anchor, emcee, DJ and RJ. This witty Punjabi munda has anchored TNA wrestling show. He has vast knowledge about food and has learnt by observing cooks when he used to clean vessels to earn some extra money while studying in Australia. So who will clinch the title of MasterChef India ?The experienced Jayanandan Bhaskar or Joe Bath who leant by observing others cook?

Next comes the eldest contestant on the show 54 year old Kandla Nijhowne who writes a newspaper column about seasonal food. The lady from Delhi learnt to cook after marriage and writes the column for Tribune once a week. 19 year old student

Ankita Chakravarty from Delhi is the youngest contestant on Master Chef. Her dad was a chef but she is not in touch with him since her parents separated. It will be exciting to see whether the eldest contestant manages to defeat the youngest or vice-versa.

Pritesh Chothani an assistant brand manager from Mumbai lists photography and cooking as his passions. He reveals that he cooks more often than his wife does. He has also started Symphony and spices foundation to promote Indian spices. Event manager by profession

Radhicka Agarwaal dreamt of becoming a chef but was unsuccessful. She now wants to fulfill her passion for cooking through MasterChef India. The assistant manager and brand manager will definitely be giving each other tough competition.

Archana Chauhan a housewife from Meerut loves cooking and dreams of writing a book on it.

Zebi Zubair is a 28 year old housewife from Lucknow who is a very good cook. It remains to be seen whether it is the housewife from Lucknow or from Meerut who goes further in the competition.

Pankaj Bhadouria has been teaching since the last 16 years. Besides cooking her hobbies also include painting. She says that if she wins the show she will be happy to get recognition at national level in something that she enjoys doing the most. Popular radio jockey

Parul Sukhwani from Indore claims to have superb taste buds and is very creative with food. Who will excel at cooking- the dedicated teacher or the well known RJ?

Sweta Pareek from Delhi started cooking at a young age since her mother was working away from home. She has also taken up the responsibility of looking after her visually impaired sister.

Smita Dugar from Hyderabad is well versed with cuisines from around the world. She enjoys traveling and experiments with the various cuisines that she comes across. Keep watching to find out whether the responsible Sweta manages to defeat the happy go lucky Smita.
