Turn off the tap while you brush Save the diminishing water tables by turning off the tap while you brush your teeth. A running tap flows at a rate of two gallons per minute, which means if you practice this method of saving water, you will save up to 8 gallons of water a day per person. Water your yard in the morning The best time to water outdoors is in the morning. It reduces wastage of water and also promotes healthy flora and fauna. The cool morning breeze reduces rate of evaporation, allowing your garden to remain watered for a longer time. Fix that leak Any water outlet, pipes and joints should be taken care of immediately. It not just wastes water, it also eats on to your daily water usage capacity. Make sure to use good quality pipe wrenches and replace old and worn out. Turn off the tap in intervals while dish washing When washing dishes, turn off the tap whenever possible. Do not let water run purposelessly while soaping or rinsing.
