The pandemic has created a panic situation and celebs are fighting their own struggles, coping with the situations. A look at some of the major news that grabbed headlines this week.

Nikki Tamboli’s brother Jatin succumbs to Covid-19



Bigg Boss 14 finalist Nikki Tamboli lost her brother Jatin, 29, to Covid 19. Her brother was also suffering from several health complications. In a social media post she had previously written about her brother’s health. She wrote, “He got admitted in hospital as his lungs was collapsed. He was surviving on 1 lung. He tested positive for tuberculosis and covid in the hospital. He also got pneumonia.” On May 4, her brother stopped breathing. However, with a heavy and emotional heart Nikki wrote that her brother is in a better place.

Aniruddh Dave’s health scare, celebs wish him speed recovery


Patiala Babes fame Aniruddh Dave has been fighting Covid-19 with all his might. The actor tested positive for COVID-19 on April 23 and his health deteriorated last week. He was shifted to ICU after facing complications. His family and wife also rushed to Bhopal leaving their 2-month-old newborn. Celebs across wished him a speedy recovery.


Khatron Ke Khiladi 11 contestants leave for Cape Town


It is time for yet another season of stunt-based show, Khatron Ke Khiladi, to begin. Celebs participating in the show were spotted late at night at the airport on May 6 to catch their flight for Cape Town. While Shweta came alone, Rahul Vaidya's girlfriend Disha Parmar came to see him off. Arjun Bijlani, Anushka Sen, Divyanka Tripathi, Sourabh Raaj Jain, Mahek Chahal, Sana Makbul and Abhinav Shukla were snapped at the airport.

Super Dancer judge Shilpa Shetty’s family tests positive for Covid-19


Former Super Dancer Chapter 4 judge Shilpa Shetty Kundra has informed about testing negative for COVID-19 but shared that her family including her parents-in-law, her mother, hubby Raj Kundra, son Viaan and daughter Samisha have tested positive. Shilpa shared that the past 10 days have been difficult for her and her family as everyone tested positive one after the other. She added that everyone from the family is following the official guidelines and doctor’s advice.


TV producers forced to wrap up shoot in Goa


The Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) cancelled permissions that were given for film and TV serial shootings in Goa, in the wake of rising COVID-19 cases. Nine TV shows relocated to Goa after shootings were stalled in Maharashtra last month and they are left with no choice but to wrap up and return to Mumbai. The hunt for new locations has already begun. The shows that shifted base to Goa are Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Mein, Aapki Nazron Ne Samjha, Shaurya Aur Anokhi Ki Kahani, Kumkum Bhagya, Kundali Bhagya, Yeh Hai Chahatein, Apna Time Bhi Aayega, Tujhse Hai Raabta, Molkki, Bawara Dil and Qurbaan Hua.

Mann Ki Awaaz: Pratigya fame Pooja Gor and Raj Singh Arora, who announced their split a few months back, have gracefully handled their breakup. The former couple dated each other for around a decade and have always remained respectful towards each other even post their split. While talking to ETimes TV, when Pooja was asked about a recent incident where she helped Raj to fly to the US to meet his family, the actress called him her family and stated that they will always remain friends.


Sugandha-Sanket booked for violating Covid-19 rules during their wedding


Just a week and half after their marriage, singer and comedian Sugandha Mishra, her husband Sanket Bhosale, have been booked for violating Covid restrictions, imposed by Punjab government, during their marriage function on April 26. Manager of the club, where the function was held, has also been booked. They have been booked under Disaster Management Act and under section 188 of IPC for violating the official orders. The FIR mentions that from the media clip it emerged that several people gathered at the marriage function. Punjab government has restricted number of 10 persons for marriage functions and this restriction was in place when Sughandha’s marriage was held.


Kangana’s sister Rangoli calls Karan Patel ‘Bojh on Mother Earth’


After Karan Patel mocked Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut on her ‘oxygen plants’ comment, her sister Rangoli Chandel has hit back at the Yeh Hai Mohabbatein actor for making fun of her. Rangoli shared a screenshot of Karan’s comment on Kangana’s Tweet and she called him out with her not so kind words. She wrote, “And u r the most Nalla Person this country has ever produced ,who has not done anything for environment... who is just a bojh (burden) on Mother Earth have some gratitude & feel better.”

Comedian Sunil Pal booked for calling doctors ‘demons’


Indian comedian and actor Sunil Pal was booked for allegedly posting a video on social media a fortnight ago that went viral in which he has called 90% of doctors dressed in "demon suit" scares patients from morning till evening, suffering from Covid, and by end of the day the person dies of fear. Pal also claimed that these doctors are thieves who does not care for poor people. Andheri police registered the FIR against Pal on May 4 based on the complaint filed by Dr. Sushmita Bhatnagar (55), president of the Association of Medical Consultants (Mumbai), after going through the alleged video that was first noticed by chairman Dr. Sudhir Naik on April 20.


Celebs above 18 take first dose of vaccine


The vaccination drive for Indian citizens above the age of 18 began from May 1. Soon after which, just like everybody else, television celebrities also got them registered for their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. As they took their first shot of the vaccine, celebs like Parth Samthaan, Himanshi Khurana, Devoleena, Niti Taylor and others shared their experience and also urged their fans to get vaccinated.


Mahek Chahal on her split with Ashmit Patel


Mahek Chahal, who will soon be seen in Khatron Ke Khiladi 11, in an exclusive interview with ETimes TV, spoke about her split with Ashmit Patel. She shared, “I chose to walk off. When you start living together and spend more time with a particular person, you get to know the real him/her. I don't think that Ashmit was the right person for me.”


Aly Goni’s family tests positive for Covid-19


Bigg Boss 14 fame Aly Goni informed fans about his sister, mother and nephews tested positive for COVID-19. He further empathised with all those who have someone in their family fighting their battle with Covid and shared that he understands their situation now. Calling all of them fighters, he wrote, “I can understand what people are feeling jinke ghar wale are positive.. My most of the family members are positive from last 9 days My mom, My sister her kids they are fighter the way they r fighting with this virus specially my baby munchkins ya Allah reham take care.”


Shama Sikander on cosmetic surgery


Having been trolled for her 'changed' looks, the Yeh Meri Life Hai actress Shama Sikander says that although she doesn't owe an explanation to anyone, yet for the record, she hasn't gone under the knife. In an interview she said, “There is no plastic surgery involved in my case. I don't know why people say I got plastic surgery done, when it is just cosmetic procedures. When people saw me I was a growing up girl. So certain physical changes were still going on.”


Bharti Singh’s fright for her mother’s health


Comedienne Bharti Singh broke down into tears recalling her mother's battle with COVID-19. In an episode of Dance Deewane 3, which she is hosting along with husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa, the actress spoke her heart out about the COVID-19 situation in India. The actress spoke about the time when her mother Kamla Singh, who contracted the virus, revealed that when her mother was recovering in the hospital, her neighbour died of the virus, leaving her mom and the comedian worried. Bharti further narrated how her mother would call and share that patients are dying in her ward and she would constantly be worried what if she gets a call like this.


Tannaz Irani replaced abruptly in Apna Time Bhi Aayega


Tannaz Irani was in shock after learning that she got replaced abruptly from her show Apna Time Bhi Aayega. The actress says that she was replaced on the show after she expressed her reservations about moving to Goa for the shoot. The actress, who plays the role of Ranisa, expressed took to social media sharing it is unfair. Many celebs also came out in solidarity to show their support towards her.


Bikramjit Kanwarpal succumbs to Covid-19
