About the show:

• Velammal is a 2021 Indian historical fiction television show that aired on Vijay TV from 12th April 2021. The show is based on the life of Rani Velu Nachiyar, She was the first Indian queen to wage war with the East India Company in India. It stars Krithika Khelge, Muktha, Vignesh, Ambika, Reshma Pasupuleti and Sampath Ram. The show is produced by Deepak Dhar's Banijay Asia.

Story:

• The show is based on the life of Rani Velu Nachiyar (3rd January 1730 – 25th December 1796) was a queen of Sivaganga estate from c.1780–1790. She was the first Indian queen to wage war with the East India Company in India. She is known by Tamil as Veeramangai.
• According to the storyline, the entire kingdom expects a boy child to be the next successor to the throne. To the dismay of the king and the people, a girl child (Velammal) is born to the queen. Velammal grows up with the belief that she is responsible for her father’s bad luck.
• Velammal craves for acceptance as the heir to the throne and her father's affection. But, Velammal secretly develops her s****s in warfare and swordplay. The story of ‘Velammal’ unravels the struggles faced by the little princess to win over the heart of the king and the people. Following this, whether Velammal succeeds in getting the love of her father (king) and saves the kingdom from the enemies forms the crux of the story.

Actress Reshma Pasupuleti is all set to entertain the fans with her next project ‘Velammal’. Reshma has shared the good news about the upcoming show Velammal on her social media handles. Reshma will be seen in the role of Nagavalli in Velammal. At this point of time, Reshma hasn’t revealed much information about her character in the show.
