Default TOP 10 Controversies & Bold Statements of Shehzad Deol (Bigg Boss 14 Contestant)

Bigg Boss 14: Shehzad Deol: Sargun Mehta adviced me not to say something behind someone's back

We got in touch with Shehzad Deol and during his interview, he got talking about his apprehensions, his plan of action, advice from friends and family, and more.

Shehzad Deol, who has done two reality shows earlier already, and in fact, was one of the finalists for MTV Ace of Space his season, has now taken on another reality show, Bigg Boss 14. While he was due to do the show back in 2018, things did not work out back then but now, he is here.

We got in touch with him and during his interview, he got talking about his apprehensions, his plan of action, advice from friends and family, and more. Read excerpts from the interview here...

What made you say yes?
I was a bit hesitant when Bigg Boss was offered to me this year, had this been offered to me 2 years ago when I wanted to do the show, things would have been different. I was in some sort of double mind but I had a different thought process this time, but again, like you make any decision in your life, the pros won against the cons.

With a show like Bigg Boss, things can go either way. Did you have apprehensions? While it is completely true, Bigg Boss has made and broken the image of people, I wouldn’t want to form any stereotype about it as it depends on person to person. So if you don’t have any skeletons in your closet, if you are being true to yourself, if you do not do any harm, then I don’t find a reason that the audiences are not going to like you. I am not saying that it is bad to fight, but if you are standing up for a correct reason, you must stand your ground. I find it really irritating when people do it for content, just for the heck of it, because they are not visible. Let’s say if you are going to a gathering without the cameras with friends and family and if you are being liked over there, you will be liked inside the house and by the audiences, it is just that you have to be true, and honest. You cannot fake things for 105 days and no one is that good of an actor, and the real you is going to come out sooner or later, and the sooner it happens, the better.

Do you have learnings to take from your reality shows earlier?
Just and just learnings are all I am taking the shows I have done prior to this. It was in my destiny to learn from a show like this and it was in my destiny to do a show like Bigg Boss and for that, I had to be prepared in a different way and it was a path to this thing that I had ahead. It was a much difficult reality show, of course, it was not as big as Bigg Boss, but one can wonder how staying in a closed room and staying in a closed house is different.

Did you receive suggestions and advices from friends outside the house?
I have two really good and close friends, Ravi Dubey and Sargun Mehta. Sargun is really close to me and like I said, I was supposed to do Bigg Boss back in 2018, but things did not happen, but I had met her and took some suggestions and advice and did in fact apply them in Ace of Space. Even this time around, I had a lengthy conversation with her, and she gave me a detailed list of things to do and things not to do. One thing that she told me, that should also be applicable in real life also, is if you cannot say something in front of someone, don’t say it behind someone’s back. It is okay to talk about someone and not want them to know about it but if confronted, do not hesitate or embarrassed to say that, and if that is the case you are not being respectful or dignified.

Have you followed the seasons earlier, who has been your favourite?
Yes, I have followed 4 seasons throughout, and I have had my own favourites. Like I really like Ajaz, Gautam Gulati, I liked Hina Khan, though she was in some sort of a different image, throughout the history of Bigg Boss, there has been no one like Shehnaaz Gill.
