Xiaomi takes a dig at Huawei pointing out lack of Google apps and services
Xiaomi recently launched the Mi 10 series comprising the Mi 10 and the Mi 10 Pro in Europe. The smartphones will compete with a bunch of powerful new smartphones. These include the Huawei P40 flagship smartphone series that recently launched. However, Xiaomi has one big trump card against its Chinese rival in Europe and that is the presence of Google services and apps. The company has also taken advantage of this leverage.
The European version of the Mi 10 Pro includes an inscription that says “with easy access to the Google apps you use most”. This isn’t really a flagship feature to boast of, compared to the other specifications the Mi 10 Pro rocks. However, the inscription serves a small yet important reminder to European buyers that the Mi 10 Pro has something the Huawei phones lack. For instance, when the iPhone 11 series launched without support for higher refresh rates, OnePlus did not miss the opportunity to troll the brand. Ever since Huawei has lost Google apps and services, Xiaomi has been the first brand to take a dig at them. Just like the Mate 30 Pro launched last year, Huawei’s entire P40 series does not feature Google services at all. Even the Google Play Store is missing and instead, the phones have the Huawei AppGallery as part of the HMS (Huawei Mobile Services). To make matters worse for Huawei, the P40 series costs about the same as the Mi 10 series.
