Query regarding MSS reports

For some MSS reports ( Staff Assignments, Position Description, Bonus report, Staff Gains, Staff Losses, Nominal Rolls, TWA Reports) ,
when executed for "Direct Reports" and "All Employees" from the drop down,
showing error as " You must select atleast one suitable object before starting the report" although all the employees or atleast one of them is selected.

It would be great if anyone can suggest as to what is causing this error.
