Television actress and reality star, Archana Gautam, who was recently seen in Celebrity Masterchef managed to impress the judges with her cooking s****s and managed to make it till top 6 contestants. The actress was eliminated few days before the finale. In an exclusive chat with Times of India TV, Archana opened up about her journey on the show, making it to the top 6 despite being underestimated by many. She shared how people often assume she’ll get eliminated in the first week, but she continues to prove them wrong. I had a great time on Masterchef and got to learn a lot. I have become very confident about my cooking. Earlier, I used to cook like roti, sabzi, chatni, dal, chawal, but after Masterchef I have started to cook recipes which we see in restaurants like making bread, ice-creams. It feels amazing that we are the contestants of the first season. We will always be remembered as the OG contestants. We surpassed the expectations of the judges, and despite being actors we did not leave any stone unturned to give our best. We put in all our efforts and gave our 100 percent. Whenever I have done a show I don’t know why but people start making comments that you will be out in the first week itself. They always underestimate me...Arre yaar ye toh pehel dusre hafte mein he out hojaayegi…I don’t know why they judge me in this way. Agar reality shows fix he hone lag gaye toh kya he hoga. People have talent, judge them on the basis of it. I had some kind of talent that’s the reason I could manage to come till top 6 in Masterchef. People mock me for my English, the way I talk or for my voice. Why can’t people appreciate my talent. I know I haven’t won any reality show until now but that doesn’t mean, I won’t win any in future. During Bigg Boss also I reached till the Top 5, but I did the show on my own, I did not take anyone’s support. I was completely a newcomer, nobody knew me before Bigg Boss. Things suddenly went viral especially after I cried and discussed about my love life with Farah ma'am. My relationship is very new and we had just started dating some time back and earlier we would talk to each other on calls till wee hours of morning. My boyfriend is not from the industry so it was difficult for him to understand. Usko lagta tha aise kaun shoot karata hai joh time nahi milta inko. But later when I made him understand things and showed him the shooting pattern and all, he understood how difficult it is to shoot for the show. I cried on the show because he had blocked me and he had not done something like this before. Isliye breakup, patch up laga rehta tha. He has never stopped me from working or shooting. He is very supportive of my work.
