After the crescent moon sighting on February 28, the roza begin in accordance with 29 Sha’ban 1446 AH in the Islamic calendar. In India, the first day of Ramadan shall begin from March 2, 2025.

During Ramadan the devotees observe a day long fast the begin from Suhoor or sehri and ends with the Iftar after sunset. It is abstinence of food and water. Whenever one observes a fast, it is essential to have a healthy dietary pattern for staying hydrated and energised. People who are living with diabetics should take extra precaution.

  3. Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water between Iftar and Suhoor to stay hydrated. Limit caffeinated beverages, as they can lead to dehydration.
  4. Plan Your Iftar: Break your fast with dates and water, then have a balanced meal that includes protein, healthy fats, and fiber. Avoid overeating, as this can lead to fluctuations in blood sugar levels.
  5. Monitor Blood Sugar Levels: Regularly check your blood sugar levels before and after meals, especially during Suhoor (pre-dawn meal) and Iftar (meal to break the fast). This helps you manage your diabetes effectively.
