TOP 10 IT Companies which has Highest number of employees - Before COVID 19 vs After COVID 19

Today, lets see how Biggest IT companies are planning to terminate employees due to COVID 19 Pandemic. Companies like Infosys, IBM, TCS, Accenture, Wipro, Microsoft has more than 2,00,000 employees across the world. Surely big impact will be for Middle Management staff.

Lets have a look Total number of employees for each company before COVID 19 and will update the After COVID 19 impact around May ending.

Tata Consultancy Services

TATA Consultancy Services Limited (TCS) is the biggest Indian multinational information technology (IT) service and consulting company, and is headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. It is a subsidiary of Tata Group and operates in 149 locations across 46 countries.

TCS has total 448,464 number of employees across the World as on March 2020



TCS is one of the biggest and the largest private sector employers in India, and the fourth-largest employer among listed Indian companies (after Indian Railways, Indian Army and India Post).] TCS had a total of 4,46,675 employees as of 31 December 2019, of which 36.2% were women. The number of non-Indian nationals was 21,282 as on 31 March 2013 (7.7%).[77][111] The employee costs for the FY 2012-13 were US$4.38 billion, which was approx. 38% of the total revenue of the company for that period. In the fiscal year 2012-13, TCS recruited a total of 69,728 new staff, of whom 59,276 were based in India and 10,452 were based in the rest of the world. In the same period, the rate of attrition was 10.6%. The average age of a TCS employee is 28 years. The employee utilisation rate, excluding trainees, for the FY 2012-13 was 82%. TCS was the fifth-largest United States visa recipient in 2008 (after Infosys, CTS, Wipro and Mahindra Satyam). In 2012, the Tata Group companies, including TCS, were the second largest recipient of H-1B visas. As of Jan 2020, TCS has over 4,00,000+ employees. It is world's third largest IT employer behind IBM and HP.

Infosys

Infosys Limited is an Indian multinational corporation that provides business consulting, information technology and outsourcing services. It has its headquarters in Bangalore, Karnataka, India, Infosys is the second-largest Indian IT company after Tata Consultancy Services by 2017 revenue and 596th largest public company in the world based on revenue.

Infosys has 243,454 number of employees as on Dec 2020




Infosys had a total of 243,454 employees at the end of December 2019, out of which 37.8% were women. Out of its total workforce, 229,658 are software professionals and remaining 13,796 work for support and sales. In 2016, 89% of its employees were based in India.During financial year 2019, Infosys received 2,333,420 applications from prospective employees, interviewed 180,225 candidates and had a gross addition of 94,324 employees, a 4% hiring rate. These numbers do not include its subsidiaries.The attrition rate of Infosys Ltd., including its subsidiaries, for financial year 2019 was 21.5%

Accenture

Accenture plc, stylised as accenture, is an Irish-domiciled multinational professional services company that provides services in strategy, consulting, digital, technology and operations. A Fortune Global 500 company,[4] it has been incorporated in Dublin, Ireland since September 1, 2009. In 2019, the company reported revenues of $43.2 billion, with more than 492,000 employees serving clients in more than 200 cities in 120 countries. In 2015, the company had about 150,000 employees in India, 48,000 in the US, and 50,000 in the Philippines.

Accenture has 505,000 number of employees across the world as on December 2020




Accenture has doubled number of employees from 2013 to 2019, in the end of 2013 Accenture has 2013 number of employees.

Microsoft has 61,000 employees in the 2005 and number has increased every year, by 2014 it reached to 128,000.

In July 2014, Microsoft announced plans to lay off 18,000 employees. Microsoft employed 127,104 people as of June 5, 2014, making this about a 14 percent reduction of its workforce as the biggest Microsoft lay off ever. This included 12,500 professional and factory personnel. Previously, Microsoft had eliminated 5,800 jobs in 2009 in line with the Great Recession of 2008–2017. In September 2014, Microsoft laid off 2,100 people, including 747 people in the Seattle–Redmond area, where the company is headquartered. The firings came as a second wave of the layoffs that were previously announced. This brought the total number to over 15,000 out of the 18,000 expected cuts. In October 2014, Microsoft revealed that it was almost done with the elimination of 18,000 employees, which was its largest-ever layoff sweep. In July 2015, Microsoft announced another 7,800 job cuts in the next several months. In May 2016, Microsoft announced another 1,850 job cuts mostly in (Nokia) mobile phone division

Wipro has 171,425 number of employees across the world by end of 2019



Wipro entered into the technology business in 1981 and has over 160,000 employees and clients across 110 countries. IT revenues were at $7.1 billion for the year ended 31 March 2015, with a repeat business ratio of over 95%
