Oppo Reno 5 5G, Reno 5 Pro 5G Launched: Check Price, Specifications and More, In Photos






Chinese smartphone maker Oppo has launched its Oppo Reno 5 series of smartphones in China. The company launched the Oppo Reno 5 5G, Oppo Reno 5 Pro 5G, and teased the top-end Oppo Reno 5 Pro+ 5G at the launch event. Oppo shared a glimpse of the Oppo Reno 5 Pro+ 5G, which hinted at a triple rear camera setup. The Oppo Reno 5 5G and the Oppo Reno 5 Pro 5G come with quad rear cameras (interesting how the Pro+ variant may have one less camera), an octa-core processor, fast charging, a high refresh rate screen and more.


The Oppo Reno 5 5G is priced at CNY 2,699 in China (roughly Rs 30,300) for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant and is priced at CNY 2,999 (roughly Rs 33,700) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. The Oppo Reno 5 Pro 5G, on the other hand, is priced at CNY 3,399 (roughly Rs 38,200) for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant, while the 12GB RAM + 256GB variant of the Oppo Reno 5 Pro 5G is priced at CNY 3,799 (roughly Rs 42,700). Both the smartphones have been launched in three colour options - Aurora Blue, Moonlight Night, and Starry Night. Both smartphones are up for pre-orders in China and will start shipping from December 18. There is no word on the international availability yet.


The Oppo Reno 5 5G runs on Android 11 with ColourOS 11.1 on top. It comes with a 6.43-inch full-HD+ OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a 91.7 percent screen-to-body ratio. In terms of optics, the Oppo Reno 5 5G comes with a quad rear camera setup that includes a 64-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle shooter, a 2-megapixel macro shooter, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. Up front, the Oppo Reno 5 5G comes with a 32-megapixel selfie shooter.





The Oppo Reno 5 5G does not have expandable memory and is limited to a maximum of 256GB. Further, the smartphone has a 4,300mAh battery that supports 65W fast charging.


The Oppo Reno 5 Pro 5G, on the other hand, also comes with Android 11-based ColourOS 11.1 on top. It features a 6.55-inch full-HD+ OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a 92.1 percent screen-to-body ratio. The smartphone is powered by MediaTek's Dimensity 1000+ chipset coupled with ARM G77 MC9 GPU and up to 12GB of RAM.


The camera module on the Oppo Reno 5 Pro 5G is the same as the vanilla version of the phone, both at the back and front. The smartphone also comes with up to 256GB internal storage that is not expandable.


The Oppo Reno 5 Pro 5G is backed by a 4,350mAh battery that supports 65W fast charging. Sensors on the Oppo Reno 5 Pro 5G include a geomagnetic sensor, proximity sensor, accelerometer, gravity sensor, gyroscope, and an in-display fingerprint scanner.
