Delhi Capitals fast bowler Kagiso Rabada won his maiden Purple Cap after finishing as the leading wicket-taker in IPL 2020. The South African speedster scalped 30 wickets in 17 matches at a phenomenal strike rate of 13.13.
Jasprit Bumrah needed 3 wickets to get past Rabada’s tally, but he failed to add any tonight and thus finished 2nd on the IPL 2020 Purple Cap list. The Mumbai Indians spearhead picked up 27 wickets in 15 matches at an economy and average of 6.73 and 14.96 respectively.
His new ball partner Trent Boult picked up 3 crucial wickets in the final and finished 1 slot below Bumrah. The left-armer had a few injury scares in the season, but he ended IPL 2020 with 25 wickets from 15 games at a strike rate of 13.76.
Anrich Nortje, who came in as a replacement for Chris Woakes, grew into one of DC’s lead bowlers. The express pacer rapidly climbed the rungs before eventually capping off his debut IPL season with 22 wickets under his belt.

IPL 2020: Who won the Altroz Car this season?

Kieron Pollard deservedly won the Altroz Car for his stupendous performances in IPL 2020 (Image Credits: IPLT20.com)

The Mumbai Indians won their fifth title by defeating the Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2020 final.
Rohit Sharma became the first captain to win the trophy five times, while he also became the first player to win the IPL championship in three different decades.
In accordance with the 12 year tradition, the BCCI organized a grand presentation ceremony after the IPL 2020 final ended. Along with the Orange Cap, Purple Cap, and the Best Emerging Player of the Season award, there was also a unique prize for the batsman with the best strike rate in the 13th IPL season.
Tata Altroz was one of the sponsors of IPL 2020 in the United Arab Emirates, and they awarded an Altroz car to the player with the best batting strike rate.
Kieron Pollard edges Hardik Pandya to win the Altroz Car in IPL 2020

Kieron Pollard and Hardik Pandya were leading the race to win the Altroz Car this year, and the West Indian player beat his teammate in a close finish.
Pollard scored 268 runs in 12 innings for the Mumbai Indians. His strike rate of 191.42 helped the MI vice-captain win the award.
Hardik Pandya ended the season with 281 runs in 13 innings. While he could have inched closer to Pollard in the IPL 2020 Final, the Baroda-based player could manage only three runs off five deliveries to settle with a strike rate of 178.98. Meanwhile, Pollard went on a batting spree to improve his numbers further.
Among the eliminated teams, the Rajasthan Royals' all-rounder Jofra Archer had a batting strike rate of 179.36. The Chennai Super Kings' star Ravindra Jadeja finished fourth, having scored 232 runs in IPL 2020 at a scoring rate of 171.85.

IPL Orange Cap: Who scored the most runs in IPL 2020?

KL Rahul registered the highest-ever season tally in his IPL career (Credits: IPLT20.com)

MI and RCB had the most representations on the IPL 2020 Orange Cap list.

KL Rahul won his maiden Orange Cap after finishing as the highest run-getter in IPL 2020. The KXIP skipper scored 670 runs in 14 matches at an impressive average of 55.83, including 5 half-centuries and a scintillating 132* off 69 balls against RCB earlier in the season.
DC opener Shikhar Dhawan needed 68 runs to overhaul KL Rahul’s tally, but the southpaw got out for a 13-ball 15 in the final to finish on an aggregate of 618 runs from 17 games. This tally included back-to-back hundreds against CSK and KXIP.
David Warner crossed 500 runs for the 6th consecutive season and finished 3rd on the IPL 2020 Orange Cap list. In 16 matches, the SRH captain racked up 548 runs at a strike rate of 134.64.
Even though he couldn’t take DC all the way, Shreyas Iyer led by example and helped DC make their first-ever IPL final. The 25-year-old crossed the 500-run mark for the first time in his IPL career and finished in 4th position, having scored 519 runs in 17 matches at an average of 34.60.

IPL 2020 Final: Who won the Most Valuable Player award?

Jofra Archer (Image: IPL)

After almost two months of thrilling non-stop cricketing action in the UAE, the 2020 Indian Premier League season finally came to a close on Tuesday. The Mumbai Indians won their fifth IPL title courtesy of a 5-wicket victory over the Delhi Capitals in the final.

Over the course of the IPL, we witnessed some excellent individual performances from the world's best T20 cricketers. But there could only be one winner of the Most Valuable Player award, and the accolade went to Rajasthan Royals pacer Jofra Archer.

Jofra Archer named as IPL 2020 Most Valuable Player

Jofra Archer is certainly a worthy winner of the Most Valuable Player award, as he dominated the IPL and put in exemplary performances with both bat and ball.
The Rajasthan Royals pacer bowled many destructive spells, and led the team with 20 wickets at an economy rate of just 6.55. He also delivered an incredible 175 dot balls over the course of the 14 matches he played, an exceptional feat for someone who bowls the majority of his overs in the powerplay and at the death.
Archer also made some vital contributions for the Royals with bat in hand, as he scored 113 runs at a strike rate of 179.36.
While Jofra Archer wasn't able to guide the Rajasthan Royals to the play-offs, he showed once again why he is considered to be one of the best bowlers in limited-overs cricket. He was unplayable at times, and caused opposition batsmen all sorts of problems with his searing pace, bounce and variations.
Jofra Archer is one of the top players in the tournament, and provided the Rajasthan Royals retain him (they'd be fools not to), he'll be back next season to lead their hunt for the IPL trophy.

IPL 2020 Final: How much prize money will the winner and runners-up get?

MI will take on DC in the IPL 2020 final tonight (Credits: IPLT20.com)

The concluding match of IPL 2020 is upon us with the Delhi Capitals taking on defending champions Mumbai Indians in the IPL final at the Dubai International Stadium on Tuesday. It is a chance for DC to win their maiden IPL crown and MI to add to their record four titles. However, the side that finishes on top tonight will not get the same prize money that IPL winners normally receive.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) undertook several cost-cutting measures in view of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The governing body announced in March that the prize money for the top two teams in IPL 2020 will be halved as compared to last year.
The winner of IPL 2020 will receive INR 20 crore with the runners-up pocketing INR 12.5 crores. Notably, the two losing qualifiers – SunRisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore – will get INR 4.375 crores each.
On the other hand, the total prize money last year was INR 32.5 crores with IPL 2019 winners MI taking home INR 20 crores and MS Dhoni’s CSK receiving INR 12.5 crores.
“The financial rewards have been reworked as a part of the cost-cutting measures. The champions will get 10 crore instead of 20 crore. The runners-up will get 6.25 crore instead of 12.5 crore,” a BCCI official was quoted as saying by PTI.
Delhi Capitals have a mountain to climb in their maiden IPL final

Not only are the Mumbai Indians more experienced in terms of playing high-voltage games, but they also look the stronger side on paper. But if the Capitals can just let the past be and take tonight’s game as a one-off affair, they could emerge as the newest winners of the cash-rich league.
However, for that to happen, openers Shikhar Dhawan and Marcus Stoinis need to get DC off to a solid start and lay the perfect foundation for the likes of Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant and Shimron Hetmyer to fire in the latter half of the innings.
In the bowling department, the onus will be on the South African pace duo of Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje to make early inroads and put MI on the back foot. If DC are to win tonight, all their players will have to put their hand up and rise to the occasion.
