The route, time and destination can be different for different people. Everyone has their own story to glory. Everyone comes with their own sets of reasons for how, when and why they embarked on this mission. For Mit Sinai it was a surprising health check up despite a healthy routine.
In today’s fast paced world, sometimes we need more than a routine. When asked about what was the real motivation behind weight loss, 28-year-old said, “The trigger for my weight loss journey came as a result of an unexpected medical diagnosis. Despite maintaining an active lifestyle, my full-body checkup in February revealed deficiencies and elevated cholesterol levels, despite my young age of 28. My doctor advised me to adopt a balanced diet and commit to regular exercise. This wake-up call, coupled with my previous experiences with weight loss, highlighted the urgency of embracing a healthier lifestyle.”

Mit Sinai lost almost 16 kgs in nearly 150 days by adhering to a dedicated diet and exercise routine. Here is his inspiring journey of embarking on a happier and healthier life and how!
What Was Your Weight Loss Diet And Routine?

Throughout my weight loss journey, I never felt constrained by a traditional diet. In fact, I don’t believe in the term dieting. Instead, I focused on a varied and enjoyable range of meals with MSF. My meals included foods I genuinely love, such as daal, roti, rice, fruits, pizza, pasta, paneer curry, paneer tikka, sandwiches, and smoothies. Over the course of 150 days, I enjoyed these foods in moderation. I learned that with proper guidance, you can savor any food in appropriate portions while still achieving your health goals.

Did You Completely Cut Down on Sugar?
Yes, I made a conscious decision to eliminate sugar from my diet. I only indulged in ice cream twice during the 150 days. Remarkably, I didn’t experience strong cravings for sugary foods, thanks in part to the delicious and satisfying recipes I followed.

Did You Have Cheat Meals?
My coach, Miten, allowed for cheat meals once a week; however, I hardly needed them. Throughout my journey, I enjoyed around four to five cheat meals. I often encountered skepticism from those around me who doubted the sustainability of my approach. I responded by questioning why I needed cheat meals when I was already including enjoyable foods like pizza and pasta in my diet. A number of times I hear individuals complaint that you can’t always have access to the meals in your plan and use that as an excuse. However, during this journey, I had close to 6 travels and even during my travels, I managed to make healthy choices and control portion sizes, sticking to the rule of not exceeding 80% of my appetite.

What is One Rule That You Abide by For Losing Weight?
While I wouldn’t point to a single rule, three elements are crucial -Consistently trusting the process and following through. Second, maintaining discipline by avoiding distractions and sticking to the plan. and third, having support from loved ones. My family, especially my mother, was instrumental in my journey, preparing meals according to Miten’s advice and carefully measuring every ingredient. I must also give credit to my friend, who played a crucial role in guiding me during my workouts at the gym.

What Was One Thing That Worked Best For You?
One fundamental principle I adhered to was consistency in routine. By maintaining a regular schedule, including healthy eating, completing 10,000 steps daily, and working out four times a week, I was able to achieve my goals effectively.

One Challenge That You Faced And How Did You Overcome it?
Adopting a positive mindset was crucial. My advice to others is to trust the process for at least 30 days; the results will drive you to continue.

Is There a Weight Loss Myth That You Got to Know About During Your Journey?
A significant myth I debunked was the notion that dieting is unsustainable. With proper guidance and support, it is indeed possible to maintain a healthy diet while enjoying the foods you love. I feel like a completely new person—fitter, sharper, and stronger. I continue to measure my meals and am excited to embark on the next phase of my journey with Miten’s guidance.
