Priyanka eliminated from Indian Idol

Priyanka Negi, the strong contestant from Dehradun, became the fourth contestant to be eliminated from Indian Idol on Saturday. Shocked and shaken by her elimination Priyanka says she went blank and just couldn't hold back her tears.

"I've always been the judges' favourite and throughout I've never even come to the bottom 6… this was the first time I came into the bottom 3 and I got evicted!" says a surprised Priyanka.

Priyanka sang Radha kaise na Jale from Lagaan last week but failed to impress the judges.

"I sang a classical number for the first time and I was happy with my performance. Even Sonaliji appreciated me although Anuji and Javedji didn't really like it,” she says.

Clueless about what exactly went wrong, Priyanka still can’t understand what could have possibly gone wrong. "I've been the judges' favourite and was also getting good number of votes so I really don't know what went wrong,” she says.

Ask whether her controversy with Tulika could be the reason, she replies, "I don't think so… jo sach tha maine wahi bola, uss se mera audience support kam hua hoga mujhe aisa nahi lagta."

Negi says she was expecting Prasenjit to get eliminated as he was in the bottom three too but at the same time she also says that he and Kapil are amongst those who she wants to win as they deserve it.

Priyanka Negi has been a state level air rifle shooter. Singing has always been a passion for the 2nd year B.Com student. Aspiring to achieve her goal she auditioned for the last idol but couldn't get through. Fate however was on her side this year and she was selected and taken into the gala rounds. "I went through a special six month training programme to get in here," she says.

Ask about her future projects, she says, "I will continue to improvise further and Anuji too has asked me to be a part of his shows."c
