Default TOP 10 Negatives & Positives of Maruti Swift Dzire

The latest Maruti Suzuki Dzire is around for over a decade now. First born out of Maruti’s warehouse back in 2008, the sub-4m sedan has maintained its language. Originally known as the Swift Dzire, the car had undergone multiple changes and upgrades before becoming what it is today.

At one point, Maruti sold over 21 thousand units per month. But like they say, “Every successor faces a competition”, and the same happened as the segment got populated with new models. But yes, the Dzire continued to hold its position strong, which can also be attributed to the strong supply of genuine spare parts from various suppliers, like the Click Here

It has been through much more than just design tweaks and style updates through this journey. With the latest makeover happening during the early hours of the 2020 COVID-19 global pandemic, the Dzire facelift brings along a couple of tweaks in design and a new Dualjet gasoline engine.
Let’s find out 5 things you should know about the 2020 Maruti Dzire.

‘Baleno’ is letting ‘Dzire’ use its heart
The Baleno is a great product coming out of the NEXA dealerships under Maruti’s name. Over the years, Baleno has been the ‘peppier sibling’ to the ‘Swift flagship’. However, for the facelifted Dzire, Maruti is bringing Baleno’s Dualjet petrol engine as the only option under 2020 Dzire’s hood.
Call it the economy or its low maintenance records, the ‘Diesel Dzire’ was a charmer in more than one way. Now for 2020, the petrol BS6 engine is all you got and this may not be a bad thing. With stricter norms and the power this mill packs, the petrol-only philosophy may actually work for the Dzire. Although, times are tough to pull off such a big change.

Small cosmetic touch ups on the exterior
‘Pop and close the engine bay and take a look at the design changes on the Dzire facelift. Not so much has changed although. The big chrome accent grill still introduces the sedan to its onlooker a sportier stance. The slightly refreshed front fascia of Dzire includes refurbished bumpers.
The sub 4m compact sedan comes with projector headlamps (LED) with daytime running lights, combination tail lamps, and auto foldable outer mirrors. Plus, precision-cut alloy wheels are also up for grabs in the latest Dzire.

‘Dzire’ is now more desirous to sit-in
Technology is the new battleground for carmakers of the decade. Connected on the go infotainment systems play a vital role in the experience of cars. The 2020 facelift trim of the Dzire receives a new SmartPlay system. This system comes fitted with Apple CarPlay and Google’s Android Auto.
Not just this, you will be able to command the system with your voice in this new model. Also, a cloud-based feature will allow you to stay updated on traffic conditions and navigation. All-in-all, a great package wrapped around in the tried and tested language makes the facelifted Dzire a tasteful choice.

Same powertrain keeping it together
The package may have changed a bit but what remains constant in this new Maruti Dzire is its powertrain. Churning out 83 PS of power and 113 Nm of torque, the BS6 compliant 1.2-litre petrol engine comes with a 5-speed manual and an automated-manual stick.
The AGS variants of the car come with electronic stability programmes and incline hold assist as well. Maruti is promising a fuel economy of over 21 kmpl for the new automobile.

Costlier by a couple of more ‘cookie points’
The updated Swift Dzire is not going to be a ‘pocket-heavy’ sedan to own. With a very slight difference in the pricing when compared with the previous generation, this new Dzire starts at INR 5.89 lakhs and goes all the way up to INR 8.81 lakhs.
