Along with this, he also secured the top 18th rank in the JEE Main exam.
He, who secured the top 1 rank in JEE Advanced exam, originally hails from Chandrapur region of Maharashtra. He completed his class 12th from Alpha Junior College of Science, Mumbai and secured All India Rank-1 in JEE Advanced 2019 exam. Apart from this, he had secured All India Rank-18 by scoring 100 percentile in JEE Main 2019 and stood second in the state of Maharashtra. His name is Kartikeya Gupta.
Did BTech from IIT Bombay
After securing number 1 rank in JEE Advanced, he took admission in BTech in Computer Science from IIT Mumbai. He never thought that he would get AIR-1. He believed that he focused on his studies without clearing his doubts. He could not sleep without clearing his doubts, as teachers were always ready to help. His 6-7 hours of self-study played an important role in his success. Along with this, weekly tests helped him in self-assessment and improvement.
Who are his role models
He has also achieved success in competitions like INPHO, INCHO, INAO and INJSO. His father Chandresh Gupta is a general manager in the paper industry, while his mother Poonam Gupta is a housewife. His elder brother has also completed engineering in CS branch from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Sardar Patel Institute of Technology in Mumbai. He considers the great mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan as his role model. Srinivasa Ramanujan is a source of inspiration for him.
After completing his BTech from IIT Bombay, Karthikeya worked as a research intern at the Institute of Science and Technology, Austria. According to his LinkedIn profile, he then worked as a research intern at Samsung Electronics. Currently, he is working as a software engineer at Google.
