Burning the fire passion at a time when i was not even a thing for women, Radha Maniamma got four-wheeler licence in 1981 learning to drive from an ambassador and then within five years. Later, she also acquired a heavy vehicle licence becoming the first woman in Kerala to do so in 1984. The couple began A2Z Institute of Heavy Equipment in 197o. The dynamic duo helped several people to learn and get their heavy duty license made. After the demise of Amma’s husband in 2004, the business slowly became a big deal in Kerala that also empowered women to venture in this rather male-dominated field. Her efforts and endeavour were recognised by the India Book of Records and received the “Inspirational Personality of the Year 2022” award. In this digital driven age, Amma’s presence goes far and wide. Today she boast of 29.2K followers and counting.
