• This year, actor and former contestant of another couple dance reality show Sanam Johar returned to the show as a choreographer for the star Rubina Dilaik. The two have been receiving appreciation from the judges for their performances.While Rubina has a reputation of being straightforward and does not mince her words for which she has sometimes even received criticism also in the past, Sanam believes he's learning a lot from her, "I like how Rubina presents herself and more importantly puts across what is on her mind confidently. She's strong-headed and can unabashedly ask for what she wants. As an individual, apart from the fact that I meet so many people through my work and in a creative field, one needs to be outgoing, more so when you're in front of a camera, I do fumble sometimes and that is what I want to learn from her. She inspires me to be more confident in the public eye."

• Talking about their camaraderie, Sanam shares, "Though personality wise, we might be different but one thing that is common between us is punctuality. I've learned in our entertainment business, being punctual is a forgotten virtue but you have no idea how much one can accomplish by just respecting and valuing your time and also others'."
• This week Rubina presented a dance act revolving around her personal life. She enacted an act from the time when husband Abhinav Shukla and her married life had hit a rough patch. The actress even got emotional while talking about it after her dance act in front of the judges.

• The New Year started on an unexpected note after Sanam Johar tested positive for COVID-19 on January 1. But that’s not it! He had to opt out of the finale of India’s Best Dancer 2, which was shot yesterday. The choreographer and his participant, Roza Rana, were among the top five and were all set to showcase a duet performance at the finale. However, the choreographer couldn’t be a part of it.
• Sanam tells us, “I started feeling feverish and sick on December 30. I was busy with rehearsals then. Fortunately, I didn’t meet a lot of people. I immediately isolated myself and underwent a test. It came positive on January 1. What a day to test positive for COVID-19.”
• The choreographer, who lives with his mother and girlfriend, actress Abigail Jain, is relieved that the two haven’t been infected. He says, “My mother and Abigail took the test thrice and have tested negative. That has come as a huge relief to me.”
• While he was relieved that the rest of his family tested negative, he was disappointed that his days of hard work went down the drain and he couldn’t be with Rosa in the finale episode. And as fate would have it, Sanam tested negative as soon as the shoot was over for the finale. “The final episode was shot yesterday and I couldn’t be a part of it. I tested negative in the evening but it was not possible for me to get back to dancing. My team and I had designed a superb act for the finale, in which Roza and I were performing together. However, since I was forced to opt out, she performed solo. Obviously, I would have been excited if I was with her. I felt miserable for not being there, as have forged a beautiful and strong bond as a choreographer and dancer. But I guess God wanted her to perform solo and impress everyone. It was certainly difficult for her to adjust overnight and deliver a solo performance. Poora season nikala and in the end yeh ho gaya. I was extremely disappointed, as I couldn’t be a part of the final episode. But I am happy for her that she got to perform,” he concludes.
