• National award-winning singer Rupankar Bagchi, who was mired into a big controversy followed by a backlash from netizens for his remarks on late singer KK, has reportedly been approached by the makers of Bigg Boss 16.
  
• Latest reports suggest, Rupankar has been approached by the makers to participate in the reality show, which is known for its share of fights, high-octane drama and welcoming controversial personalities.
  
• However, Rupankar has reportedly rejected the offer which came along with a whopping amount of money for his supposed participation in the show.

• The Salman Khan-hosted reality show is ready to hit the screen on October 1. But the eminent singer and song writer wants to celebrate Durga Puja with his family and isn’t ready to stay away from the city during the festive season.
• Rupankar was recently seen in the Bengali reality show ‘Ismart Jodi’ alongside his wife Chaitali. The celebrity couple showcased their lesser-known side on the show and emerged as one of the strongest contenders.
  
• However, Rupankar’s remark on KK a few hours before his (KK’s) sudden and tragic demise while the later was on tour in the city for music events, caused a huge uproar. The Bengali singer had to face a huge backlash. Rupankar and Chaitali, who were busy shooting for ‘Ismart Jodi’ back then, had to approach police for help after they reportedly received death threats. The issue also affected Rupankar’s professional life after one of the jingles sang by him was dropped by the confectioner brand followed by a few other incidents.
• Rupankar, however, later held a press conference to explain his side. He claimed, his intension was never to hurt KK or disrespect to him. Rupankar also claimed that he is a great admirer of the late singer. He received mixed reaction from his peer group. While a few singers came in support of him a few criticised Rupankar’s remarks on social media.
