'I think I am very fortunate'

Do you have a godfather in the industry? No. My family is academically inclined but they were very supportive. My father manages my career. My mother is a doctor.

You career is doing very well too. After Ghajini, we'll see you in Vipul Shah's London Dreams, with Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan.
Yes, I was approached for the film when I was shooting for Ghajini. I think I am very fortunate.

'I haven't committed to any South film now'

Will you work down south as well? Definitely. But my priority is Ghajini. I have taken some time off to do London Dreams after this, so my schedule is a little tight. I haven't committed to any South film now.

'I am quite friendly with Jiah'

You are one of the top actresses down South. Do you see competition from reigning Bollywood actresses like Katrina Kaif and Kareena Kapoor? I don't see that way. I don't go by rankings and positions. I have just done Ghajini and I hope audiences like it. I am keeping my fingers cross. My biggest achievement would be if audiences accept me as a talented performer.

Rumour has it that you fought with Jiah Khan, as she felt sidelined in the Ghajini promotions.
Oh nothing at all. What rubbish! I am quite friendly with her.

'Working with Rajnikant is my ambition'

Your films are hero-centric. So do you feel side-lined?
No. In the commercial potboiler, women have scope to perform too.

After Aamir and Salman, is Shah Rukh Khan next on the cards?
Hopefully. I have worked with most of the Khans. I worked with Saif Ali Khan for a Colgate ad, and with Zayed Khan for Miranda.
What about Rajnikant?

I don't know what the future holds for me. But that's one of my ambitions.

'I'm enjoying my stay in Mumbai'

How do you like Mumbai? I moved to Mumbai in January, and I'm enjoying my stay. It's the cultural potpourri and I love that. The only thing I don't like is the pollution and the traffic jams.
