One of the most successful shows on television, Kaun Banega Crorepati is back and so is the hot favourite host Amitabh Bachchan. AB senior took the show to an unmatched height and it resulted in sky rocketing GRPs for the channel and TRPs to the show. It’s a great honour and a pleasure to be associated with Sony. The channel has always been associated with programs that are well formatted and documented

There are so many shows which offer more money than 1 crore. Do you think KBC would be able to interest people?
Sony feels it has been a longtime a show since they brought a format like KBC. There has been lot of experiments not just in India, but in other countries as well, and following those results from the research that they have done, they feel that it is time for Kaun Banega Crorepati to do a back again

KBC has always been related to you. It’s an impression and image that you have created in the minds of people. How do you feel?
It is not our job to create an image in the minds of people. It’s media who does it. For us actors, we perform our best and leave it for the audience to decide.

Shah Rukh Khan stepped in your shoes for the third season of KBC. What do you have to say about him as a host?
I don’t think it’s fair to compare Shahrukh Khan and me. He has done an extremely fair job.

Before it was Star Plus, now it’s Sony. So do we expect a change in the format as well?
Well, it’s a matter of time. We need to sit and discuss what changes should be made to attract more audiences and then we will get back to you on this. Of course when we take any project, we work hard on it. We will try our level best to deliver to the audience.

How will you manage time for KBC from your hectic schedule since you must be busy with your Bollywood assignments too?
No, I don't have a film at the moment. I feel fortunate to work for the small screen and want to concentrate on television. So, there is no problem as far as managing my schedule is concerned

Any special preparations for the show?
Yes, I’ve joined the gym already and couple of cosmetic changes are needed. We have to see what more preparations have to be made (laughs)
