Hello, can you please confirm what is the basis for determining the earliest retro actg period is it:

1. Baesed on the business or
2. The HR functional consultant that advise the business on what to indicate or what is the best practise around this.

Default Dummy Payroll

Hello, I still do not get this concept. Are all EE's initially assigned to this dummy payroll area in IT 0001 and payroll is run just before go live, and after go live the EE's are assigned to real payroll area's? Thank you

Example.

Say your client is gong Live on 01.04.2009 and system should have all the data before that right, because for Statutory calculations like PF, TAX, Gratuity...leave.....

All this data will be in Non-SAP system, which comes from Data loading tool (Like LSML).. for that Data we need to run the payroll but if we run payroll with back dated system will run payroll and EE gets $$$.

To stop we need on Dummy Payroll Area, using this we will run the payroll.

Thanks

Hi

Real time example is here

Say your company is going LIVE on 01.04.2010 and when you load all the old details from campany starting you need to put say from 01/2005 and runs the YTD Schema so that payroll win run and all the Tech wage types will update like Tax for the year...which helps to calculate next period tax...

Once all data loaded you should put Earliest retro date to 01/2010 so that when you run the payroll system will not check from back dated.

And system only reads master date from this date (Say from 01/2010)

Hope you got it.

Thanks

Default Explain Nodes

Hi Wiki, Can you pls explain the nodes

1. "TCLAS - Transaction Class for Data Retention" under ABKRS
2. "A - Master Data and Time data" under TCLAS
3. "B - Applicant data" under TCLAS
4. T - Shift schedule under TCLAS

and why do we use "Otherwise" node and not node "A" which seems to be for Master data.

Thanks.

Default Dummy Payroll and Earliest retro a/c date

1. As per your example on the need to run Dummy Payroll.... i wonder if we have the Earliest retro accounting date set as Golive date then why would we need to run Dummy payroll.. In this case the system will not go before the earlist retro date right? and thus the employees would not be paid for previous periods....

2. Do we need to run Dummy payroll only if we want to maintain Histroy?

Pls Explain
