Recently, according to a report in a leading paper, ‘Mere Dad Ki Dulhan’, which features Shweta Tiwari and Varun Badola in lead roles will see a new entry. The production house has now roped in actor Shaleen Malhotra of ‘Arjun’ fame to play Rishi, the parallel lead.

Shaleen has been roped in opposite Anjali Tatrari, who plays Varun Badola’s daughter in the show. Confirming the news to the paper, he told that his character is very much different from what he played till now. The character Rishi is a charmer and a smooth talker. Shaleen is joining the show midway so he feels that its challenging because if you are a part of a show since its start then you get to spend a lot of time with the cast and crew.

Shaleen will resume the shoot soon and he is very excited to be a part of the show.

Default Shweta Tiwari says 'Shooting the Roka ceremony was a sweet moment'

Shweta Tiwari and Varun Badola shot for the roka ceremony for Mere Dad Ki Dulhan recently and here's what the former has to say about it.

Sony Entertainment Televisionís Mere Dad Ki Dulhan is currently the most popular fiction show on the small screen. The show highlights the progressive thought that love can be found at a later stage in life and that children can be the matchmakers for their single parents, too. While Amber (Varun Badola) and Guneetís (Shweta Tiwari) love story saw many twists and turns, the audience loved their chalk and chemistry.

Now that the two are deeply in love and making their relationship official, #Amneet is gearing up to get hitched. Amberís daughter Niya Sharma, who took her dad Amberís rishta to Guneet has been successful in getting blessings from Guneetís mother Pammi for Amber and Guneetís wedding. Now, Guneet and Amber are officially getting engaged in a Roka ceremony. The much-in-love couple are happy to make their bond official to the world.

Shweta says, ďIím so happy for Guneet that she found someone who she really loves. Guneet and Amber are making their relationship official. Also, itís sweet of Pammiji to have allowed her daughter to make the right choice for herself and to have accepted Amber as her son-in-law. Shooting for the Roka ceremony was a sweet moment. Itís certainly one of the most beautiful moments in the show.Ē

Shweta Tiwari Opens up on 'Mere Dad Ki Dulhan' Going Off-Air

The reason it isn't a surprise for the cast and crew of MDKD is because it was always supposed to be a finite series and that is also what leading lady actor Shweta Tiwari said.

Earlier today, it might have come across as a shock to many out there that one of the most loved shows on Sony TV - Mere Dad Ki Dulhan (MDKD) is all set to go off-air. However, it seems that this was always planned and it hasn't been a shock for the cast and crew. The show was launched on November 19th 2019 and it will be going off-air next month onwards.

The reason it isn't a surprise for the cast and crew of MDKD is because it was always supposed to be a finite series and that is also what leading lady actor Shweta Tiwari said.

Tiwari opened up on the same to ETimes TV where she said, “As a character, Guneet will always stay close to my heart. I am glad that the audience has been so appreciative of the show. The best part about working in a finite show is that one knows the story arch and can work on the character accordingly, with no surprises.” Mere Dad Ki Dulhan is indeed a great addition to Indian TV space and as we know that the show, Story 9 Months Ki will be the one replacing MDKD, Tiwari opened up on that too.

She said, “It has been a great journey Story 9 months Ki charts the accidental love story of the urbane Alia and desi Sarang, bound together by the unexpected miracle of IVF.e both personally and professionally. I look forward to being a part of such unique concepts going forward as well.”

Mere Dad Ki Dulhan to wrap up on November 19

Shweta Tiwari and Varun Badola starrer Mere Dad Ki Dulhan is all to go off-air and here's when the team will be wrapping up the shoot.

Mere Dad Ki Dulhan has managed to do very well with the fans and while it has brought a one of its kind story to the screens, the show will be wrapping up on November 19. Anjali Tatrari, who plays the role of Niya in the show, went on to reveal how she is trying hard not to break down and that it is going to be weird on the last day. She also added how though they are prepared for it and know that it is going to happen, it feels like one is not prepared, still.

Meanwhile, the show was always supposed to be a finite series since the beginning, and when the news about the show first going off-air came out, Shweta went on to reveal how she is glad that the show was loved so much. She also went on to add how in fact, the best part about working with finite series is that one knows the arch of the story and can also work on the character, without any surprises.

Replacing the show will be Story 9 months ki, and it is another intriguing show, which will narrate the love story of the urbane Alia and desi Sarang, bound together by the unexpected miracle of IVF.
