Default Cheryl Cole and Simon Cowell's favourite Liam win judges' hearts at X Factor

  • Show insiders' fears for 'nervous and shaking' 16-year-old starlet
They are among the select few who have already been named X Factor favourites.
And this weekend, Cher Lloyd and Liam Payne will be seen showcasing their talents for judges Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and guest judge Nicole Scherzinger at the boot camp stage of the TV talent show.
It's clear the judges take both the young singers to their hearts, but viewers won't know if they make it through until this weekend.
In pictures from episodes to be shown this Saturday and Sunday, Cheryl Cole lookalike Cher, 16, looks more glamorous then ever with her long brown hair backcombed into a chic up 'do as she waits to go on stage.

Ready for action: Cher Lloyd shows off her unique style as she prepares to showcase her talents during The X Factor boot camp stage

Favourite: Liam Payne will also be hoping to impress the judges and get through to the next round of the competition

She takes to the stage desperately hoping the absence of her most avid supporter, Cheryl Cole, who was suffering from malaria during the episode's filming, will not ruin her chances.
However, it has been claimed show insiders were left concerned about Worcestershire lass Cher's well-being following her 'frail and vulnerable' performance at boot camp.

  • The sleaze factor: Escort girl Chloe charges more now she's on X Factor. So is Simon Cowell bothered?

A source told the Daily Mail: 'Everyone was worried about Cher, she was extremely nervous and shaking at some points.

Controversial: Presenter Dermot O'Leary with contestant Chloe Mafia, who has caused controversy after it was revealed she is an escort

Getting ready: Girl group Husstle wait to go on stage for their boot camp audition

'She is quite bolshy on stage, but she sat by herself at lunch. She didn't eat much and looked frail and vulnerable as she was accompanied by a member of production.

'If she gets through to the live shows next month - which she is a shoo-in for - she will have to be given a bit of extra special attention. She is very young.'
Meanwhile, Liam Payne, also 16, is hoping to impress the judges further after receiving a standing ovation from Cowell following his performance of Cry Me A River on his original audition.

Awaiting their fate: Contestants including Mary Byrne (far left) wait to find out if they have made it through to the next stage

Decisions, decisions: Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh pass judgement on the singers

It was the second time Liam has auditioned for the show, having failed to get through the first time around due to his young age of 14.
Speaking to presenter Dermot O'Leary before he took to the stage to start his audition, Liam said: 'It’s great to be back. It was gutting to get thrown out and I don’t want it to happen again.

'This is my chance to prove to Simon I have got what it takes.'

Primped and preened: Katie Waissel touches up her lipstick before her performance

Spinning around: One particularly eager contestant shows off his breakdancing moves

And Liam will be seen doing exactly that when he performs for Cowell and Walsh at boot camp this weekend.
Wearing a red and white checked shirt, the teenager looks calm and collected as he attempts to be voted through to the judges' houses stage of the show.
But it's not an easy ride for Cher and Liam, who face strong competition from other contestants including 'the new SuBo' Mary Byrne and Madonna wannabe Katie Waissel.

Instant hit: Cher's performance of Soulja Boy's Turn My Swag On wowed the judges and the crowd at her first audition

Excited: Cheryl said Cher's audition was her favourite of the show so far

Also seen at boot camp is escort Chloe Mafia who, it was revealed yesterday, has been arrested an astonishing 140 times but is still being allowed to continue in the programme.
But it remains to be seen if Chloe, whose real name is Chloe Heald, will have enough talent to get her through to the next stage.
The X Factor is on ITV1 on Saturday at 7.30pm and on Sunday at 7.45pm.
Second time lucky: Liam, who first appeared on the X Factor two years ago, impressed the judges with his new-found maturity

Standing ovation: The 16-year-old singer received a standing ovation from judges Simon Cowell and Natalie Imbruglia
