Default Maintenance Event Builder

Maintenance Event Builder

Purpose

You can use the Maintenance Event Builder (MEB) to plan maintenance revisions in a simple way in the form of individual work packages.

You can check maintenance notifications, assign notifications to the revisions, create maintenance and service orders from the task lists in the notifications, and assign them to the tasks.

You can display outstanding work requirements, due dates of the tasks, plant orders, and other information that is relevant to the maintenance planning. In addition, you can use the MEB to display the resources situation.

The Maintenance Event Builder supports the resources planners in the context of maintenance planning by creating work packages which contain outstanding maintenance requirements for pre-existing maintenance results.

As soon as you have configured the work packages, you can generate the required plant orders for the technicians.

Features

Revision functions

Notifications are compiled into revisions. A revision represents the work package that is to be performed for a maintenance event.

The revision work area allows several revisions to be worked on simultaneously. It is also linked with the planning board to simplify navigation. For more information, see Use Revision Work Area.

If a project is required for larger maintenance operations, you assign the revision to a project network or to a WBS element. You can use the PM/PS reference elements to have the orders created for the revision assigned automatically.

For more information, see Assigning Maintenance Orders to Projects. The maintenance orders are thus timed for schedule according to the project plan.

Notification Functions

The work requirement is shown as a list of maintenance notifications. The outstanding maintenance notifications are selected on the basis of a flexible record of search criteria to which the functional location or the piece of equipment belongs.

You can display outstanding work requirements, due dates of the tasks, plant orders, and other information that is relevant to the maintenance planning.

Drag&Drop is used for the assignment of notifications or the removal of assignments. For more information, see Use Notification List.
You can also reset notifications, if necessary.

Order functions

You create maintenance and service orders from the task lists in the notifications and assign the orders to a project network, which represents a time window for a maintenance activity. If you create orders from task lists in the Maintenance Event Builder, you must create orders for all the task lists.

Use the PM/PS interface to assign the orders to projects. For more information, see Assigning Maintenance Orders to Projects.

You can use a report to create orders for a revision in the background. For more information, see Creating Orders from a Revision Report.

Planning board

The planning board shows the data in the following views:
Technical object view
Work center view
Capacity view
For more information, see Use Planning board.

Adaptation/Personalization

MEB provides the option of adapting the user roles on the basis of the authorization objects so that different roles have access to different functions. For more information, see Authorizations in the Maintenance Event Builder.

In addition, the individual users can make settings to change the graphic layout of the MEB.

Revision API

You can use APIs to create, update, bundle, or delete revisions from another system.
