Controversy:

The first incident occurred when the actor slapped an onlooker on the sets of the movie Money Hai to Honey Hai (2008). The onlooker had apparently trespassed into the shooting area and refused to leave even when Govinda requested him to do so. The actor lost his cool and slapped him. The incident died down as the onlooker quickly left the sets and did not file any complaint.

The second slap generated even more controversy as this time Govinda's victim was none other than the director of the movie for which he was shooting. The actor was shooting for the movie Do Lucky. As per the script, Govinda was to be slapped by his co-star Aryan Vaid. However, the slap he received from Aryan Vaid was so hard that the actor was furious. Media reports stated that he walked up to the director Neeraj Vora, slapped him and stormed out leaving a stunned set behind him
