SSC Paper Leak: Teacher Who Allegedly Leaked Exam Paper Held, Four Arrests so Far

Mumbai, Mar 22: The Mumbai Police on Tuesday arrested a teacher allegedly involved in Staff Selection Commission (SSC) paper leak. The total arrests made in the SSC paper leak is four. The accused arrested in the SSC paper leak has been identified as Rohit Singh. He was arrested on Tuesday evening from Badlapur in Thane district.
“Rohit Singh used to teach science in various coaching centres and is a close associate of prime accused Firoz Khan. Khan, also a teacher, runs a coaching centre in Ambarnath in Thane district and Singh used to teach at Khan’s coaching centre,” said a police official.
He added: “Singh used to work as a facilitator between the prime accused and the students. Khan would forward the papers to Singh on his mobile and the latter used to bring together students at a coaching centre and provide them question papers along with the answers. Thereafter, the students used to appear for the exam.”
The matter was reported when an exam invigilator Sandhya Pawar saw three students continuously checking their phones and then text-books they were carrying. On being checked, the teacher found the question paper of history and political science stored in their phones.
The three students were taken to Amboli police station once the exam got over. A case under Information Technology Act and Maharashtra University Act was registered.
The other accused have been identified as Imran Sheikh (45) and Anwarun Hassan (21).
