Exclusive: Sumanth, Sonali win India's Got Talent Season 4

Another season of India's Got Talent on Colors' came to an end in a spectacular way! With the star cast of Jab Tak Hain Jaan gracing the stage with judges Karan Johar, Farah Khan, Kirron Kher and Malaika Arora Khan, it had to be a sizzling evening!

And on the finale day, from the top finalists, it was the Bivash kids from the Bivash dance academy who walked away the coveted trophy and the grand prize. Comprising of Maraju Sumath (13) from Bhuvaneshwar and Sonali Majumdar (7) from Bonga, West Bengal, and the two won over judges with their salsa performance. Says Maraju, "Initially Salsa was tough because there were so many lifts and Sonali was also so small. Both Sonali and I would practice from 8am to 10pm and it was this hard work that bore us fruit." Adding, "Because we both supported each other, the dance became easy. Today, Salsa is my favourite dance form."

Both the cute little dancers have been winning accolades from the judges throughout. Says Maraju, "All the judges on the show have been kind and we got a standing ovation all the time, but Karan sir remains my favourite. He called me and Sonali Kamal Hassan and Sridevi. That was a huge compliment. He said watching us dance was like watching a 3D performance and that's not possible with humans."

With the cash prize, Maraju says he will go to a better school and invest in learning more dance forms. For 7 year old Sonali, she's happy to make her parents proud. "I came from a place near the Bangladesh border and have worked very hard. I was happy to dance with Shahrukh sir and I beat the whole country to be here, as the winner on the India's Got Talent stage. I want to grow up to be dancer".

Mumbai: The winners of India's Got Talent, which is to be aired on Sony TV tomorrow (Saturday, November 24) are Sumanth and Sonali from Bhivaash academy of Dance. The other finalists include Toshan Singh, Tanya and Mukesh.

The trophy was given away by the special guests of the show - The Jab Tak Hai Jaan starcast (Shahrukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma). A cheque of 50 lakhs was handed over to the contestants by the three judges of the show - Karan Johar, Kiran Kher and Malaika Arora Khan. What's more, the winners were also gifted a Maruti Alto 800 by the GM of Maruti, GM Manohar Bhatt.

The finale of India's Got Talent was extremely colourful and entertaining as apart from the contestants, even the starcast of Jab Tak Hai Jaan shook their booty and entertained the audience to the hilt.

While Malaika grooved to her famous item song 'Munni badnaam hui', Shahrukh Khan and host Manish Paul together danced to the tunes of 'Pretty Woman' from Kal Ho Na Ho. If this was not enough, Shahrukh also shook his booty with Malaika Arora to the excitement of hundreds of viewers who had gathered for the event. As expected, Karan and Kiron Kher were all praises for the two.

The finale also saw powerpacked performance by singer Richa Sharma who had sung the song 'Sajda' from SRK-Kajol starrer film My Name is Khan.'

Colors' India's Got Talent is gearing up for the finale in all its grandeur with the presence of Bollywood's King, Shah Rukh Khan, the gorgeous Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma.

Viewers will get to see a fun filled finale as Malaika Arora Khan and Farah Khan bring their kids to the sets of the reality show. Bollywood Director and judge Karan Johar is seen having a gala time with the kids.

To add to the splendor, Katrina Kaif will be seen grooving to her popular song Chikni Chameli on the request of the finalists and will also be seen shaking a leg with anchor Manish Paul and Cyrus Sahukar.
Bollywood's King Khan will be seen supporting the finalists by giving them words of wisdom to boost their enthusiasm. The actor will also enjoy a rewind mode with memories of Circus which were brought alive by two finalists' circus themed background.

Known to be a jovial and cheerful personality SRK was seen charming a lady by calling her sexy, kissing her belly after a fabulous performance.

SRK was apparently on a kissing spree as he made a point to kiss all the ladies including Kirron Kher, Malaika Arora Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma.

India's Got Talent season 4 found its winners in two little salsa dancers Maraju Sumanth, 13, and Sonali Majumdar, 7, at a glittering grand finale aired on Saturday night.

The show which saw a number of talented artistes from all corners of the country, finally declared the two talented and energetic children trained at Bivash Dance Academy - a small salsa dance academy in Kolkata - as winners.

Sumanth and Majumdar walked away with the maximum votes defeating singer Deepraj from Gangtok and Jharkhand-based trapeze artistes Mukesh and Tanya.

The joy of the two children doubled as they received the grand prize of Rs 50 lakh from Shah Rukh Khan with Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma.

The special guests were accompanied by the judges of the show Karan Johar, Kirron Kher and Malaika Arora Khan.

"The children are overcoming the euphoria and excitement of winning the grand show. The huge amount that they have won will be used for their education," Bivash Chowdhary, trainer and mentor of the participants, said.

"With the prize money they can take advanced courses at world class salsa training classes in future," Bivash added.

Sumanth's father, a railway employee from Bhubaneswar, decided to send his son to Bivash Dance Academy after realising his son's dancing skills.


Majumdar is from a modest farmer's family settled in Bonga - a small village located on the India-Bangladesh border.

"Majumdar's family realised that the seven-year-old's potential will be wasted in the village. Therefore, the family decided to come to Kolkata to ensure that Majumdar gets professional training.

She has been staying on the academy premises for the past one year and preparing for such contests. Both children have been devoting 10 hours for rehearsals each day," Bivash said.

India's Got Talent is an Indian franchise of the Got Talent series and is a joint collaboration between Colors and Britain's FrementleMedia.

In the US, America's Got Talent is a hit reality show which is ruling the American television for the past seven years.

Sharon Osbourne, Piers Morgan and Howie Mandel are the popular figures who judge the show. In India, the series was launched in 2009.

The reality show has came into prominence after celebrating the talent of several underprivileged artistes from modest backgrounds.

The show has provided a platform to many people living in the interiors of the country to showcase their talent.

Prince Group, which consisted of daily wage labourers from Bhubaneswar, was the winner of season one.

The second season was won by the Shillong Chamber Choir from Meghalaya, while the third season was won by the Suresh and Vernon Group, which had dancers from Mumbai slums
