Mohit Raina is an Indian actor popular on television. He started his acting career with a sci-fi TV show called Antariksh and later made his bollywood debut with Mithun Chakraborty starrer film Don Muthu Swami. He is known for his lead role of Shiva in the TV series, Devon Ke Dev - Mahadev. He was last seen in a Colors popular show Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat.

Biography

Mohit Raina was born on 14 August 1982 in Kashmir. He was brought up in Jammu where he did his schooling from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Jammu. He left Jammu after graduating with a degree in commerce from Jammu University.

As a teenager, Raina weighed 107 kg, but lost 29 kgs after he decided to participate in 2005 Grasim Mr. India contest, where he was placed among the top five contestants. Raina lives in Mumbai with his mother. He lost his father in 2011. Mohit is a proud owner of Ford Endeavour which costs between Rs. 19 lakh to Rs. 24 lakh.

In Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat

Mohit Raina has palyed the role of Emperor Ashoka in the serial Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat after the huge leap of 10 years. The series was based on the life of Samrat Ashok. Mohit was seen opposite Soumya Seth and Kajol Srivastava in the show.

According to the sources, Mohit Raina is dating beautiful actress Mouni Roy who played his first wife Sati in the show Devo Ka Dev - Mahadev. Though they have not yet come out in public about their relationship but it seems they are very much in love. Mohit revealed that he will get married in 2017.

Career

Mohit Raina began his acting career in 2006 with Tv show Antariksh. In 2008, he starred as JaiKishan in a comedy movie called Don Muthu Swami, starring actor Mithun Chakraborty in the lead role. He again returned to television in 2009 with another Star Plus' show called Chehra. Mohit was also a part of the TV series Bandini (NDTV Imagine). Mohit shot to fame for playing the role of Lord Shiva in the series Devon Ka Dev - Mahadev. He was also seen in the mythological drama "Mahabharat".

Early Life

Mohit Raina hails from Jammu & Kashmir and is a very simple guy. His family was totally against his decision of becoming an actor, but they finally agreed and they were quite happy to see him as Lord Shiva.

He had faced struggles and had given some flops before hitting the jackpot. His father passed away two days before this role was offered to him. And he accepted it as a gift from his father.
