Meet the newbies all set to take on Bollywood.

Move over the Katrina Kaifs and the Priyanka Chopras. So goes for the Kareenas, Kanganas and the Deepikas. A whole new hot brigade is all set to woo the Bollywood fan in 2009. We drew up a list of the women we think are hot enough to threaten the position of the reigning queens. Take a look:


Barbara Mori
Hrithik Roshan's muse in his home production Kites has already created many ripples in the industry. Just a few days ago, a tabloid carried rumours of Barbara Mori causing a rift in Hrithik's relationship with his wife (which the actor vehemently denied). Barbara it seems is too hot for even our Greek God Hrithik to handle. An Mexican model and actress, she is a hybrid of Uruguayan-Japanese and Mexican parentage. Whoa! Wonder how long she'll take to learn Hindi before making it anywhere in Bollywood?!?

Sonakshi Sinha
Shatrughan Sinha's fashion designer daughter Sonakshi never garnered so much attention as she is doing now. But then again, she has never looked as HOT as she does these days. Visibly slimmer and better dressed than her PR agency days, Sonakshi is making appearances at the right time at the right places. As of now, mum Poonam Sinha is accompanying her everywhere. We do hope that the chaperoning won't go on for too long and the young thing lets her hair down. But going by Bollywood's moms and dads, we guess it'll happen after Sonakshi has landed a few films in her kitty. Good luck, girl!

Freida Pinto
With Slumdog Millionaire's success, Freida's been fortunate to achieve what many established actresses have been trying to do - carve a place in Hollywood, and land international advertising contracts and magazine covers. Well, we're hoping to catch more of her in Hindi films, too, seeing some of her stunning pictures.

Parvathy Omanakuttan
Several Femina Miss India beauties have done well in Bollywood, right from Zeenat Aman and Juhi Chawla to Aishwarya Rai and Priyanka Chopra. Last year's dusky face Parvathy Omanakuttan Nair, crowned Femina Miss India World 2008, went on to be the First Runner Up of Miss World 2008. Like most of her predecessors, Paravathy also harbours Bollywood ambitious. And we must confess it won't be much of a surprise if she actually does manage to make a break! We're waiting to see more of her....

Vaishali Desai

The grandniece of the late veteran filmmaker Manmohan Desai, Vaishali Desai is the winner of the Femina Miss India International 2005 title. Vaishali plays the lead actress opposite Jackky Bhagnani in the soon-to-release romantic thriller Kal Kissne Dekha. She has appeared in several national and regional commercials including Ponds, Tanishq, Indian Oil, Compaq and Raymond. Buzz is that she will star with Shah Rukh Khan in a Sunfeast commercial. Vaishali has also appeared in many music videos. Vaishali has also walked the ramp for top Indian designers, participating in the Lakme Fashion Week, Dhaka Fashion week and the Sri Lankan Fashion week.
