UR Rao Bio Udupi Ramachandra Rao aka UR Rao Bio,Wiki,Biography,Age,Wife Details| Indian Space Scientist Udupi Ramachandra Rao aka UR Rao Wiki and Biography: UR Rao was born on 10 March 1932 in Adamaru, Karnataka State, India. He got his primary education at Adamaru, and secondary education from Christian High School, Udupi. He completed his B.Sc in Government Arts and Science College, and M.Sc from Banaras Hindu University and Ph.D at Physical Research Laboratory, Ahmedabad. UR Rao started his career as a cosmic ray scientist, and he has continuously been associated with India’s space programme working with people like Late MGK Menon, Satish Dhawan and Vikram Sarabhai. From Aryabhatta to the Mars Orbiter Mission, Rao has continued to work with the space agency on several of its projects. Udupi Ramachandra Rao became the first Indian to be given the ‘Hall of Fame’ award by the International Astronautical Federation. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan by the Government of India in 1976, and awarded Padma Vibhushan in 2017.
