Default TOP 10 Hollywood Films that can be Adapted into Television Shows

Adapting Hollywood films into Bollywood movies has been a common phenomenon since a very long time. Where some adaptations hit the bulls eye, some miserably fail to do so. Since, no Hollywood film has ever been adapted into a full-fledged television series, makers could give it a shot. And this can be made possible with the finite series trend fast catching up with Indian producers and audience.

Tellybuzz presents to you a choicest list of Hollywood flicks that could be adapted into a proper television or finite series. What more... we have even suggested names of your favourite actors who could most probably star in these adaptations.

Take a look-

PS. I Love You

Let's begin with the legend! Gerry and Holly's epic love definitely tops our list of films that we want to see an adaptation of. But what we would love to witness on the small screens is a good adaptation and not some far stretched daily soap. The today's audience would love to watch a story of how a completely distraught and broken widow learns to move forward in life with the help of her husband's letters.

We wish to see Divyanka Tripathi step into the shoes of Hillary Swank. Divyanka is one actress who can emote a host of emotions and that too bang on. As for a character as strong as Gerard Butler, why not Gurmeet Choudhary? Even though dead in the film, Gerard had a strong presence throughout and that could be perfectly represented by Gurmeet. What say?
How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days

Dramedy is exactly the demand of today's majority viewers. And what could be more apt than How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days? Andie and Benjamin find each other to serve their personal interests but end up falling in love with each other. Sounds a bit clichd? This film is tailor made for the daily soap watchers, don't you think?

Sanaya Irani has never played a character like Andie, who goes about prioritizing her task (completing her 'HOW TO' article). Sanaya has always essayed selfless characters where she has played doting wife and this would be a welcome change for both her and her fans. And for the quintessential lover boy, WHY NOT Vivian Dsena? That smile of his, could bring any girl down on their knees within seconds. Now who wouldn't want to watch them clashing and mashing together!

Gone Girl

Now the tricky one! Enough of Drama and Romance.. Lets exploit Hollywood's most popular genre, Mind-boggling Thrillers. And what better than an Indian adaptation of Gone Girl to blow up the audience's minds? It would make a perfect finite thriller series. Its time to prove to the audience and makers that you don't always need a Naagin or Daayan to thrill the viewers and spice up the show!

Is it only me or do you guys feel that Iqbal Khan and Ben Affleck look just a bit alike? But that's not why Iqbal Khan is our choice. This guy has pulled of an array of roles and this would only add up to his list of achievements. As for the ***y psycho, Nia Sharma fits the bill perfectly. With looks to ****, she could go in for a negative character as she has never done one before. We are pretty sure her fans would love her in any character as Nia does complete justice to them.

Monster In Law

Typical saas bahu dramas? Been there seen them. But drama between to be daughter in law and mother in law? This is what monster in Law is all about. Post marriage tug-of-war between them, we all have bore witness to that. But viewers will be able to enjoy pre-marriage drama if Monster in Law is made into a television series. Also, since our makers are a pro at saas-bahu sagas, this serial would be a cakewalk for them to make, don't you think so?

How about we repeat the Saraswatichandra Trio of the simple, smart yet ***y Jennifer Winget, sly and ***y again Monica Bedi? A perfect fit for Charlie (Jennifer Lopez) and Viola (Jane Fonda).

Devil wears Prada

This film gave us a sneak peek into the competitive world of fashion and media combined together. How about a soap on the same? Well the makers could tweak a few deets here and there, we don't mind. We did have a soap on a similar subject (Dream Girl) but as usual, it changed its course to the regular daily soap drama.
Who better than timeless beauty Achint Kaur as Miranda (Meryl Streep) and fashionista Mouni Roy for the role of Andrea (Anne Hathaway). Both the actresses are a perfect fit to the saying - Beauty With Brains.

The Holiday

What happens when four lives get entangled? It leads to complications, drama and entertainment. That is what The Holiday was all about. And with all of the above elements present in the film, it is a perfect recipe for a hit television series.
As for the pairing, Hina Khan and Ankit Gera could certainly pull off what Iris and Miles did. Hina as the level headed helpful Iris and Ankit as the smart writer would do just great. As for Graham and Amanda, Shaheer Sheikh and Krystyl Dsouza would fit in perfectly. Where Shaheer can pull off any role with ease, Krystyl would do complete justice to strong, independent Cameron Diaz.

Pretty Woman

Quintessential story of a poor yet sorted call girl and a super rich business man meeting and eventually falling in love, might not sound something very new and exciting but imagine presenting this concept on Indian television. Pretty Woman added a bolder concept to this rich guy poor girl concept, with the poor girl being a *** worker.
As for the casting, who could do more justice to this challenging Julia Roberts role than the Telly queen Drashti Dhami herself. Drashti is one actress who can pull off any role assigned to her, courtesy her acting prowess and versatility. But, we Had a tough time fitting in an actor in Richard Gere's shoes!

We would like our audience to suggest who could play the perfect rich guy opposite Drashti. How about a completely fresh pairing with Drashti this time?

Leave in your suggestions in the comment box below.
