Default "Uninstall Whatsapp" Controversy Amitabh Bachchan

Amitabh’s WhatsApp to be uninstalled after 700 people sign an Online Petition against his usage?

Amitabh Bachchan is one of the most influential celebrities on Social Media and clearly he enjoys a huge fan following. However, some are irked by his excessive use of social media and WhatsApp. Once again Amitabh has come under the scanner as an online petition has been filed by a Twitter user asking him and industrialist Anand Mahindra to delete Whatsapp from their mobile phones.

Explaining the reason why such a petition was filed in the first place, the description read, "A megastar and a renowned industrialist are falling prey to fake news & bizarre content being fed to them via Whatsapp. We need to restore the dignity of two gentlemen. Through this petition, we are requesting Mark Zuckerberg to disable Whatsapp on their numbers."

Earlier, Amitabh has fallen prey to fake news twice as he tweeted about janata curfew coinciding with Amavasya and how clapping and clanging utensils will also help in fighting coronavirus pandemic. After being trolled massively, the legendary superstar had to delete the tweet. A few days later, he had tweeted that coronavirus pandemic can stay on human excreta for weeks. This claim of him was later quashed by the joint secretary of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

No sooner the petition was filled, it started trending on Twitter with many wondering why "Uninstall Whatsapp" was trending. A user explained, ""Uninstall Whatsapp"... Full information for those who wanna know about this hashtag."

So far over 700 people have signed the petition. Meanwhile, the 77-year-old actor is yet to react over the same and it is highly unlikely that he ever will. On the work front, Amitabh Bachchan was last seen Chiranjeevi starrer Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy. He will next be seen in Shoojit Sircar's Gulabo Sitabo co-starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Rumy Jaffery's Chehre co-starring Emraan Hashmi and Nagraj Manjule's Jhund.
