Vasant recalls the conversation with Ram Jadiya where he had mentioned about the girl, Neeraja, who has the gift of finding water. Vasant informs his father that Neeraja lives in Rashipur village. Vasant decides to leave home in search of Neeraja.

Vasant reaches Rashipur disguised as a Dholi in the fair. Vasant as Lakha, plays the Dhol in the fair. Gulaal dances to his tunes.

Gulaal tells the story of Kanchan and Manoj to Vasant. Vasant realises the reason of rivalry between Talsagra and Rashipur.

Gulaal consoles an upset Kaki. Vasant sees Gulaal and Kaki cursing Talsagra. He decides to search for Neerja irrespective of the rivalry between Talsagra and Rashipur. Vasant tells Gulaal's mother about the drought in Talsagra and his desire to meet Neerja. She refuses to listen to him. Vasanth is introduced to Guruji. He is forcibly asked to show his hands to Guruji as he is adept in astrology. Vasant is happy to learn from Guruji that his wish will be fulfilled at the earliest. Gulaal's parents are upset when Guruji tells them that there are some obstacles in her marriage, but she will be always victorious in life. Guruji insists Babji to arrange a havan. Vasant hides this from Gulaal. Vasant enquires about Neerja, but they make fun of him. Gulaal is angry with Vasant for refusing to accompany her in a merry-go-round. Vasant saves Gulaal when she is about to fall down from the ride.

Gulaal is overwhelmed with joy on winning a prize for Garba. Gulaal's family members share their award with Vasant, paying credit to him for his drum beats. Vasant is stunned to learn that Neerja was a part of Gulaal's team. Gulaal is surprised when Vasant enquires about Neerja. She enquires of Vasant the reason behind his asking for Neerja. He requests Gulaal to introduce Neerja to him. Gulaal thinks of revealing the truth about Neerja to Vasant. Gulaal tricks Vasant by introducing him to her friend Roopa as Neerja to him. Vasant presents Roopa with an anklet, thinking that she is Neerja. He later realizes that Roopa is not Neerja, as her footsteps failed to bring forth water from dry land. Vasant is upset at not being able to meet Neerja, and decides to leave Rashipur. Gulaal stops Vasant from leaving. Vasant is shocked when Gulaal reveals her name as Neerja to the priest in a havan.
