The television industry has seen its share of ugly disputes followed by some messy divorce proceedings of a few television couples. While their weddings caught ample limelight, their controversial split-ups garnered a lot of attention too. Amidst the ups and downs between them, many marriages of the industry saw a messy end after the couples chose to wash their dirty linen in public. Here’s a list of some of the most controversial splits of TV celebs:

Nisha Rawal and Karan Mehra


The fallout between Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai fame Karan Mehra and Nisha Rawal grabbed eyeballs and left everyone shocked. Their ugly dispute caught attention when the former got arrested after the latter filed a case of domestic violence against him. While Nisha accused Karan of domestic violence and taking her money, he accused her of fabricating lies, being bipolar and of physical abuse. The couple even fought over their son Kavish’s custody and were seen washing each other’s dirty linen in public. Their divorce proceedings are still under process at the family court.

Shweta Tiwari and Abhinav Kohli


Khatron Ke Khiladi 11’s Shweta Tiwari and estranged husband Abhinav Kohli’s disputes have been in talks for a while now. Earlier, the former had accused the latter of domestic violence and harassment against her and her daughter Palak Tiwari. Now, in May this year when Shweta flew to Cape Town for the shoot, Abhinav accused her of abandoning their son Reyansh for participating in KKK11. In response, Shweta shared a video alleging that he assaulted her and their son. But Abhinav later also showed his side of that same video to prove his innocence. They are still fighting the case of Reyansh’s custody at family court.

Shweta Tiwari and Raja Chaudhary


Shweta Tiwari’s first marriage was with Raja Chaudhary, with whom she has a daughter Palak Tiwari. Their divorce was one of the most controversial breakups of the industry. Reportedly, Shweta accused Raja of domestic violence and alcohol abuse. Allegedly, she also accused him of misbehaving with her on her show sets.

Ssara Khan and Ali Merchant


Ssara Khan and Ali Merchant tied the knot on national TV during their Bigg Boss stint. Their marriage didn’t last for long and everyone called their wedding a publicity stunt. However, they claimed that they were very much in love. As per the reports, Sara said it was Ali’s flirtatious nature that caused trouble in their marriage. Meanwhile, if a few other reports are to be believed their relationship went kaput due to financial issues.

Karan Singh Grover and Shraddha Nigam


Dill Mill Gayye fame Karan Singh Grover tied the knot with actress Shraddha Nigam in a low profile Gurudwara wedding. But their marriage only lasted for 10 months and the news about them parting ways shocked many. As per the rumours then, it was Karan’s proximity with his Jhalak Dikhla Jaa choreographer Nicole that led to their split.

Few years after his split with Shraddha Nigam, Karan married actress Jennifer Winget. The couple was loved by many and broke hearts after they announced their separation. While they hid the news about their separation for a long time, Jennifer finally broke the silence and confirmed their separation after days of speculation. As per reports, it was once again because of Karan’s proximity with his co-actresses that led to their split. Moreover, reports cited that Karan didn’t believe in an institution of marriage and wanted to live like a free bird, which led to their separation.

Dalljiet Kaur and Shaleen Bhanot


Actress Dalljiet Kaur and Shaleen Bhanot who married in 2009 saw a rough patch five years after their marriage. The actress accused him of domestic violence and abuse and filed a case against him. Following their ugly disputes, Dalljiet filed a divorce. She has a son, Jaydon with Shaleen.
While the couple didn’t see each other eye to eye after their messy separation, recently they were spotted together as they went to take the Covid-19 vaccine.

Rashami Desai and Nandish Sandhu


Rashami Desai and Nandish Sandhu, who got married in 2012, went their separate ways after they failed to resolve their differences. The disputes between them were seen during their participation in Nach Baliye, following which they filed for a divorce.

Delnaaz Irani and Rajev Paul


Delnaaz and Rajev gave up on their marriage almost after 14 years of being together. While no one ever came to know about the actual reasons behind their separation, reports suggested it was due to constant tiffs that they decided to go their separate ways. Rahul Mahajan’s on-screen wedding with Dimpy Ganguly grabbed the limelight for obvious reasons, their divorce too caught great attention. Dimpy had filed a domestic violence case against Rahul a few months after their marriage that led to their separation
