'Saas Bina Sasural 2' Confirms The Casting of Darshan Jariwala & Rajendra Chawla From First Season

Actors Darshan Jariwala and Rajendra Chawla, who played the roles of Cheddilal Chaturvedi and Pashupatinath Chaturvedi respectively have been sealed on to be a part of the new season too.



It was only till a week ago where we reported about how Sony TV's popular show from back then, Saas Bina Sasural is now all set to be back with a new season.

We also confirmed that leading lady Aishwarya Sakhuja was approached for the show but no confirmation was done on her part for the return.

Now it certainly seems that the show is rolling in full-speed as two actors from the first season have been confirmed to be a part of this season. Actors Darshan Jariwala and Rajendra Chawla, who played the roles of Cheddilal Chaturvedi and Pashupatinath Chaturvedi respectively have been sealed on to be a part of the new season too.

Jariwala confrimed the same to Bombay Times, wher he said, "Yes, I have been approached for the show. You will have to wait and watch to know if I will reprise the role or not. What piqued my interest about this role is that it’s different. My character is a tech-savvy guy. At his age, he has discovered and taken a penchant for the fun aspect of the world of the internet. His physical age has nothing to do with the way he thinks and outlook towards life."

Interestingly, this new season is being planned to be shot in front of a live audience eventually, to which Jariwala said, “The format of the show has also appealed to me. We are trying to go back to the quintessential sitcom. Had we not been hit by the pandemic, I would have loved to perform before a live audience. In fact, it is something we will definitely consider, once the fear of coronavirus vanishes. This genre is different — here, you don’t shoot scenes and piece them together at the edit table. Here, it’s more about the raw energy. It’s a brilliant idea, because people are afraid to go back to real theatre. So, we are trying to bring theatre on TV.”

'Saas Bina Sasural 2' To Launch in December on Sony TV

Recent reports suggest that the Sony TV show will be rolling sooner than expected and will, in fact, be launching in the month of December. When it comes to the exact date and timeslot, that is still being worked upon.



We have been reporting how Sony TV's Saas Bina Sasural 2 continues to be the talk of the town where pans for launching the sequel have been on for a rather long time now. We also reported how actors Darshan Jariwala and Rajendra Chawla, who played the roles of Cheddilal Chaturvedi and Pashupatinath Chaturvedi respectively were sealed on to be a part of the new season too.

And now, recent reports suggest that the Sony TV show will be rolling sooner than expected and will, in fact, be launching in the month of December. When it comes to the exact date and timeslot, that is still being worked upon.

Even as of yet, the leading man and lady haven't been finalized.

When it comes to the rest of the slate for Sony TV, we also know that the channel has sealed on the show, Mere Dad Ki Dulhan to be going off-air from 19th November 2020 onwards and the show that will replace it will be Kahani 9 Months Ki marking the comeback of actor Sukirti Kandpal to the small screen.

'Saas Bina Sasural 2' Witnesses a Replacement Before Going on Floors

While we know that Anjali Tartari and Kunal Saluja will play the leads, and Darshan Jariwala & Rajendra Chawla are the ones retained for the sequel, one replacement has happened otherwise.


With many sequels and spin-offs actually working fairly well, there have been an array of such shows being planned and while the latter is a more regular occurrence, sequels have fairly common too. On that note, one sequel that has been in the works for a while has been Saas Bina Sasural 2. The Sony TV show has indeed been in the plans for a while and ever while there was speculation if Aishwarya Sakhuja and Ravi Dubey will return in the second installment, that was refuted later.

While we know that Anjali Tartari and Kunal Saluja will play the leads, and Darshan Jariwala & Rajendra Chawla are the ones retained for the sequel, one replacement has happened otherwise. Actor Deepak Gheewala, who was last seen in Yeh Rishtey Hai Pyaar Ke and was roped in for this show to play the role of grandfather, has now been replaced. Now, instead of him, another Gujarati actor Sanat Vyas has been roped in to play the role. The show will be going on floors and might be launched in January 2021.
